Help, really annoying FLICKY hair

My hair is driving me insane. It is fine, but very thick and strong. It has a mind of it's own. Looks straight but has annoying deceptive waves on underneath layers.

It flicks out at the bottom all the bloody time. It never used to, but had it lightened about a year ago. I swear since then it flicks out at an acute 45 degree angle.

I have had it trimmed....makes no difference. Straightening shampoos and indeed ghd straighteners make minimal difference. It sort of flares out in wispy bits, and defaults to unreal amounts of flickiness. Am sick of arsing around with it but don't want to cut it.

Any advice....I coat itin serum before straightening to try and weigh it down too. It just seems to lightweight at the ends...and I have very very heavy hair, can't usually get slides or stuff im

Try blow drying the ends with a round brush that has a lot of bristles, a nice fat brush. Section your hair (split it by running your fingers from the tops of your ears backwards, clip the top half up and leave the bottom half loose) then wrap and grip the bottom of your hair so it's firmly wrapped over and round the brush. Use a hairdryer with a nozzle, point this down as you twizzle the brush gently pulling the hair to create tension. Repeat round your head, then re section and do it again with the next layer.

How hot are your straighteners? I can't understand why they aren't straightening it.

Another option is to go to a salon that does Brazilian blow dry, sort of semi permanent straightening.

I think cutting will make it worse.

I do the blow drying thing. Lasts until I sleep on it, then next morning, the 45 degree angle is back. Straighteners will sort if for about an hour, but then it starts.

I never believed it was possible for hair to grow like this tbh. It looks like it has been bent at an angle

Is there a natural wave or curl? It could be that it is just the length where this wave turns from straight to out so it can wave IYSWIM. Have you had it longer to add more weight? This can pull it down straighter.
