Can you recommend a lovely foundation that won't cost a king's ransome?

Just that really.. I am trawling various sites and reading reviews etc and don't want to waste my money. Have always bought really cheap foundations until quite recently when I realised that if you pay a tenner or more they make you look a helluva lot better! Currently using Max Factor Lasting Performance which was about a tenner.. pretty good but I am sitting here with my debit card, prepared to spend a little more.. but not knowing which one to get. One with good coverage please.

i really need a new one too, usually buy cheap ones under £7 but a friend bought MaxFactor 9.99 and gave it to me it was fab coverage but problem is i have really oily skin, i need one that covers and doesn't bring out my skin, at present if i use a foundation to go out on a fri, gaurnteed my face has broken out covered in spots by the sun, anyone any ideas? i did once use Benefit Foundation Stick that a friend bought me as a gift, then lost it that night!

I really like the Boots Botanics ones, which are under £10 I think. They work very well if mixed with foundation as well
(actually have kind of gone back to those after buying the Vitalumiere - don't tell Cod)

Hmm. Where best to buy if from? Will it make me look young, clear skinned and radiant? How long will it last seeing as I will be slapping it on at least once a day? (I'm one of those who won't go to the wheely bin without my face on....)

Almay good too, friend who did some market research for Boots ages ago told me Almay stuff was very very similar to Clinque stuff but obv cheaper. made to similar recipe (or formula or whatever you call it)

I have this Bourjois one, if the link doesn't work, grrrr, it is called Happy Light.

Not sure of my colour, you are best going to Boots or whatever and trying them out.

I agree with anniemac on the l'Oreal Translucide one. About £10.

It seems to me you get the £10 nes, then there is a massive jump to the expensive £20+ brands. Chanels one is good, but doesn't give good coverage IYKWIM, it doesn't cover spots and can cause them according to some people.

The L'Oreal one is good. They also do a lasting finish one, cannot remember the name, but it does last well and I think would work well on slightly oily skin. Coverage is very good, but still looks natural. It is probably similar to the Max Factor one, same price bracket.

I used to like Clinique ones as they are pretty good and don't clog the skin, but I would stick with teh £10 ones if you are wearing it daily.

I use the Avon thing under this foundation and it really makes your skin glow.

And I speak as the mother of a dd2 who thinks waking up every few hours, wailing, sitting up then yawning and going back to sleep is fun.
