Forgetting the price for a moment, does/has anyone used Eve Lom cleanser?

Is it good? Better than other hot cloth cleansers? Or has it had its day and been surpassed by a million cheaper versions?

It smells beautiful, leave your skin feeling soft and clean and last ages. I bought a fairly large pot for around £50 and I sill have half left I bought it over a year ago.

That sounds good Always, not so expensive after all if it lasts that long!

It was a bit drying on my skin. i have heard the soap and glory version is very good so that might be worth a try.

Thanks bigkids am keen to hear any recs for cheaper versions if they're equally good. Liz Earle didn't do anything for me, strangely.

I used to use it. It is the best hot cloth cleanser I've used (have tried Liz Earle and Soap & Glory).

However I now use Soap & Glory Peaches & Cream cleanser which gives fab results and is much better value for money - it's a rinse off cleanser though.

Thanks sue, I've never used any Soap and Glory before, maybe I should check them out.

It is a really good range. Check out the feedback on here and on the Boots website. I used to use their hot cloth cleanser until a friend suggested the Peaches & Cream - I think it is the better of the two and I also got sick of washing the muslin cloths!

I love tje eve lom stuff and imo its far far better than the peachers and clwan stufd which i am using at the moment. I use my eve lom more as a treat to my skin than an evwruday cleanser. I have used the eve lom cleaner in the tube and i didnt like it. I prefer thw original version in tje tub.

I have just bought it - I had a tiny sample of it amongst other things from Space NK & really loved the smell & how nice my skin felt afterawrds.

Ater umming for ages I decided to treat myself - yes its pricey - but I do love it (after 2 days) - will see how I fare with it. (C & polish I don't like as does nothing for me). Have never found a claeanser that I love .

I like the smell & the feel of the Eve Lom.

I've used it with hot cloth and with my Clarisonic - the smell is quite aniseed and not for everyone. I loved it at first, and it does go a long long way - but for the cost it didn't make a difference to my skin long term (I have oily, acne prone, sensitive skin, so it's problematic). The feeling of your skin after using is lovely though...

There is nothing better than the eve lom hot cloth cleanser
I get spots once a month, dry cheeks, shiny nose etc etc and all of that balanced out with no spots when I used it.
I'm really missing it at the moment as have got a pot of coconut oil to finish but have saved my £1s and will be getting a new pot next month

Get it, one pot lasts me about 8 months, it makes it pretty cheap!

Oddsocks you've described my exact skin type, I'm even more tempted now :) Tried coconut oil as a cleanser but it wasn't good - love it as a hair mask though!

Fabulous marketing, not a great product. I worked through 2 pots of the stuff a few years ago patiently waiting for the fabulous promised skin to appear - it didn't. Instead, found it somewhat drying and at worst caused (or at best didn't help with) blemishes. I like using a hot cloth though! Grin

It gave me the worst spots of my life, took months for my skin to recover. Never again.

I love it.
I use the morningtime cleanser which is a bit lighter, because my skin is so hormonal (I spend two weeks a month looking like a wrinkly teenager!). I get through maybe two tubes a year.
Liz Earle left my skin v congested.
Total trial and error, this stuff.

Clarins Cleansing Milk is my favourite cleanser, I use it with a hot cloth, and it makes my skin feel great. I've tried many other cleansers inc Liz Earle and this is my by-far favourite.

I have used it, loved the smell and texture but found the whole routine you are supposed to use to massage a bit timely. And I would never get organised enough to wash the cloth properly so get a few.

I am using Shu Uemura cleansing oil at the moment. It is less faff and absolutely brilliant for my combination skin. My dry patches have gone completely, my skin is deep cleaned and soft. It turns to a milk when you add water, and you can hot cloth or rinse off as you like.

Just out of interest, when people mention breakouts how long do they last? Would you not expect your skin to breakout a little if a new product is deep cleansing more effectively? Or are we talking blackheads here?

I used to use it, it was really good but I found it too much of a faff all that massaging and stuff. I switched to Liz Earle and much prefer it and I think it suits my dry sensitive skin better. Cost wise LE is cheaper but does not last that long wheras the EL lasts for ages and ages so I am not sure if there is a cost difference in real terms.

forgetmenots · 21/04/2013 22:20

It didn't break me out as such WallyBanters but it didn't improve my skin any, and for that cost I was really hoping for some improvement. As I say though my skin is a nightmare so I don't blame EL for this!

I wouldn't use anything else. I used to get eczema round my eyes but have had any, or any spots, since switching to Eve Lom about seven years ago. I love it - just not the price!

While I would agree eve lom is a great cleanser, I really wasn't to keen on the smell! I have recently changed to Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm
Yes it's £'s but you only need the smallest amount and the smell is divine you get a little scoop to ensure the right amount is used and it feels cleaner not having to put your fingers in the tub. You get a towelling cloth with it as opposed to the muslin cloth you get with EL and it really gives a good scrub. I am loving it at the moment.

I have Spiezia which is allegedly a very similar product, having been developed by the person who developed EL. It's nice, good as a soft morning cleanser but not great at removing makeup.

I have oily, dehydrated, wierd slightly eczema-prone skin.
