Natural, matt lipstick

Just that, really. I hate shine but prefer some nice matt colours.
I'd like a healthy pink one, not bright, but just a shade above my natural lip colour. I'd also like a slightly duskier pink - years ago I used to buy one made by Rimmel and it had blue hues to it, which suited my skin tone, especially when tanned. Any ideas?

Try nars dolce vita Matt pencil, I also wear mac twig and blot it, or bobbi brown nude and blot

Revlon mauve it over might suit ( although it makes me look dead)

Bobbi Borown's Creamy Matte Lip Colour in Tawny Pink or True Pink.

squoosh Fri 19-Apr-13 11:00:01

That was menat to be Bobbi Brown btw!

squoosh Fri 19-Apr-13 11:00:20

And that was meant to be 'meant'.

<has a lie down>

Revlon matte' mauve it over' (not mauve at all) but nude !!! or just get yourself off t bobbi brown they have loads in all sorts of shades.

I really like Lipstick Queen Rose Sinner, they do a lovely range of other matte colours too.

It would appear I am after the exact same colour lipstick but I also want long wear. I do have the Revlon ColourStay in Iconic Iris which is a little too strong, I think I meant to buy Mauve but picked Iconic by mistake. Anyway, staying powder is great. Now colourwise, I have Bobby Brown's Pale Pink (21), which is absolutely beautiful, but has no more than 5 minute staying power. Expensive lipstick too. I won't be buying it again.

Maybelline 14hr lipsticks have great staying power and are less than a tenner.

LittleEsme Fri 19-Apr-13 12:32:35

Ooh some great advice here. Maybelline always struck me as a bit shiney/pearlised/glossy though.

Wish the old Rimmel shade would return. As taken as I am with these new suggestions, they're too costly for me sad

Limoncellolovely Fri 19-Apr-13 12:35:16

Revlon one is only a little bit more than Rimmel and Boots often have offers !!!

squoosh Fri 19-Apr-13 12:50:29

The 14hr ones aren't shimmery.

Shimmery lipstick is EVIL.

I like Rimmel Vintage Pink. It is matte and good for every day. Some pictures online make it look a bit bright but I find it quite muted and a pretty colour.

LittleEsme Fri 19-Apr-13 14:37:57

Fantastic everyone. I'm duly cheered up at the prospect of some new lippy.
Have made notes and I shall go armed into Boots on the weekend hopefully.
Squoosh - I agree. Evil, evil stuff <cackle>

Rimmel Asia is a pinky nude.

Limoncellolovely Fri 19-Apr-13 16:01:34

If you like Rimmel the Kate Moss range has a matte nude one shade 03 I think.

practicality Fri 19-Apr-13 16:03:02

Kate moss matte lipsticks for Rimmel also has a nude but this is a strong pink nude. Might be worth a shot. I wear the darkest red and the formulation is excellent as is the staying power.

Limoncellolovely Fri 19-Apr-13 16:08:06

Think me and practicality must have had a meeting of minds !!

Indeed grin

The best nude lipstick ive tried is by Une, Sheer lips balm in S07. Organic as well (I think!)

knitknack Fri 19-Apr-13 16:24:13

Two of the kate moss for rimmel lipsticks- number 19 and i THINK number 8 (probably number 8 for you, it's slightly cooler). both HAVE to be tried on if at all possible, don't just look at them in the tube - they do that weird thing of looking very different on actual lips. I also agree with others that nars dolche vita is brilliant, and bobbi brown 'blue raspberry' or 'nude'. I use all of these plus lots of others (including my new love: hourglass in 'vintage'.)

LittleEsme Fri 19-Apr-13 19:33:26

I love MN. All the advisors at the end of my fingertips grin.

Thanks everyone. Lots of leads for me here x

Clinique 'Blushing Nude' is lovely, lip colour but a bit stronger IYKWIM.
