Hey

I'm getting some business portraits photo's done but want my hair and makeup doing too. I have someone to do my hair but no-one to do my makeup so I was thinking of paying a makeup counter to do me a professional makeover. Do any of them do such a thing and can anyone recommend me one? Thanks!

You can book an appointment at a MAC counter and pay £25 for a make-over, and then redeem the £25 against any products you actually want to buy. I don't know if any of the other counters do the same - there's something called the "Estee Lauder Five Step Face" which is free (and their products are great, so you may want to buy something) but I think you have to drop in and wait your turn...

I think usually the best reviews are for bobbi brown and mac. I'vedone a mac make over and found it really good. They give you a make up diagram showing what products they used where, and you can redeem the £25 cost against products. I think bobbi brown work similarly and are perhaps a bit better for a very natural look.

I'd recommend Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier.

Mac are great, and if you tell them what it's for, they'll make up suitable for camera use, Always use them before an awards show or similar as am incapable of colouring in my own face properly

EasterHoliday makes a good point about Mac. They are very good at knowing the right products for photos and avoiding the awful reverse panda eyes that things like touché éclat can give you!

I have always had free makeovers at counters, never paid.
