Corned Beef legs - help!

babysaurus · 11/04/2013 17:13

Wedding next week and I have horrid mottled corned beef legs. Have some rights, 'nude' 7 denier, to wear if I must but would rather not. I also have some fake tan which I can mix with moisturiser but I am not keen as my knees / heels are a bit dry, despite efforts otherwise, and am worried about blotches.
Can anyone suggest any other way of making them look better...? I don't mind pale skin but I don't like purple!!!

Sally Hansen Airbush legs - it's leg make up. Brilliant and doesn't rub off.

Is it easy to put on and not too dark? While I am reasonably play with these things normally, I shall also have ten month old DS in tow which hinders my personal grooming opportunities somewhat!
Also, my outfit is fairly pale, will it come off?!

LadyMountbatten, no I haven't as they are in the packet. Are they very airbrushy? I thought they might be a bit transparent...? It's the M&S ones

try mixing olive oil and sugar together and give your legs a good scrub. it will take off the dead skin and moisturise at the same time, as well as improving the circulation.

Soaccidentprone, thanks I'll try that.
Weirdly they go lovely and eve just after I shave them so perhaps that's the same idea (vaguely)
Liking the idea of solving the problem rather than masking it, though think the latter may be more likely!

well if the weather carries on as it is you'd be better off in trousers or woolly tightsSad

Mac Face & Body to the rescue! Great range of shades. Apply before getting dressed, rub it in really well and allow to 'set'. Caroline Flack uses it (not sure if this is a good thing, but her legs do always look nice and un-corned beefy).

I applied that airbrush legs (savers do it cheaper than elsewhere) literally 5 minutes before leaving for Boxing Day lunch out.

It worked out just fine.

Ugh I hate bare legs when the weather is clearly not bare leg weather. I think it looks awful. Agree with Lady M that the M&S 7 denier are the way to go, but do check you've got the right colour for your legs.

7 dernier tights sound like what I need too, so thank you for this thread, OP.

Looking on M&S website it seems a lot of men rate them very highly...

So, scrub with olive oil and sugar, then put the tights on, yes...? I don't want to try them on yet as they seem very ladderable, despite claims not to be. The wedding is all inside so I think goosepim

Oops! Pressed send by accident!

Meant to say goose pimples are not wholly likely ( and the only tights I really like are woolly ones, which obv would look ridiculous!)

Thank you everyone!

Wear a netball skirt and some Dunlop Green Flash to complete the look?

I'm not keen on wearing nude tights at any time of year - I'd recommend a good body scrub (I've never tried it but I've heard rave reviews of the Fresh Sugar Scrub) and then the Palmers Cocoa Butter in the blue bottle - it has AHA in it and is great for evening out skin tone, in my experience.

Agree laquila re nude BUT these ones are so fine
