Raincoat wanted

Oh yeah, but there are about a million specifications...

I want:

A proper PVC, rubber or plastic raincoat, preferably shiny.

Fitted, preferably belted.

With a hood.

Something I don't have to sell a kidney to afford.

Size 16.

Ok, that's five specifications, but it may as well be a million. Any help appreciated.

Hi Tetherend,

I hope you received your Carnaby raincoat. I assume with all the rain we've had since April you've managed to fully test it!!
I have the 3/4 one in the Lilac colour. It's great, waterproof and everyone at school asks me where i got it. It also has a removable hood so take it off when i wear it out when i'm dressing up a bit, as the hood does make it look a bit more "mum on a mission"

If you ever get a chance pop down to their shop in Midhurst. The staff there are really friendly, thoroughly recommended.

I've just found this one they only have a 14, but you might be able to find a 16 elsewhere.

But it does say to size down, as they are generous sizes.

Just ordered the cream Carnaby from rainmac- will report back when it arrives. Thanks again, I had given up hope!

Well, I for one am glad- you've certainly picked a good few days wink

TheYoniOfYawn Thu 11-Apr-13 22:59:54

I am usually TheYamiOfYawn, and I don't usually post that often, but I've been having a mumsnetty few days.

I promise to agree with everything you say on any thread, ever. You're a bloody genius.

(But who are you?)

TheYoniOfYawn Thu 11-Apr-13 22:38:02

The hood looks shiny if you zoom in on the pictures, but I've never seen one for real. I just found this with the power of google.

tethersend Thu 11-Apr-13 22:33:09

YoniOfYawn, the Carnaby one is perfect! It says it comes with a hood- do you know if the hood is the same material? I think I love you.

Thanks to everyone for looking.

avoca ones are lovely.

TheYoniOfYawn Thu 11-Apr-13 22:04:10

Shiny, with belt and hood:

TheYoniOfYawn Thu 11-Apr-13 22:00:31

Probably not shiny enough:

TheYoniOfYawn Thu 11-Apr-13 21:57:52

It was Sos Jensen, but they don't have any at the moment.

SirToffeeDoris Thu 11-Apr-13 21:56:55

False hope, but another one may be out there somewhere

TheYoniOfYawn Thu 11-Apr-13 21:47:04

There were some fantastic ones in TK Maxx last year, but I can't remember the make.

tethersend Thu 11-Apr-13 21:21:20

You have all forsaken me.

I am undone.

tethersend Thu 11-Apr-13 18:04:06

Evening bump

tethersend Thu 11-Apr-13 11:54:57

Both are too short, not shiny and not fitted, Annianni- thanks for trying, though.

Annianni Thu 11-Apr-13 11:44:43

And 'SHARE2013' gets £20 off on Atterley Rd.

Annianni Thu 11-Apr-13 11:43:48

It's yellow and £126.

There's a great plains red one for £95?

Sorry I've no links, I'm on my phone.

Annianni Thu 11-Apr-13 11:39:00

I think I've seen a Petit Bateau one on my travels, don't think it was cheap though.
Could have been on Atterley Road.

tethersend Thu 11-Apr-13 11:33:18

You see? It's impossible. Avoca have no raincoats at all as far as I can tell, the gap and the Boden ones are too short, and Mackintosh have one which isn't shiny.

SirToffeeDoris Thu 11-Apr-13 11:33:06

It is yellow, fitted ish, has a hood. No belt, not very shiny, bit short

SirToffeeDoris Thu 11-Apr-13 11:24:47

It is too short, not partic shiny and has no belt. You're welcome!

Annianni Thu 11-Apr-13 11:15:24

Gap have one called fisherman's jacket or similar. Not sure if it has a hood though but it's in the sale.
