Is Jack Wills just for teenage girls?

Well just that really! Have seen this dress for my holidays and dunno whether to go for it or not. Frightened I'll see someone younger wearing it making me look a bit mutton dressed as lamb! I'm 34 and a size 14 btw. What is the sizing like too?

IMO, yes - and I say that as someone in their early twenties who is starting to phase it out now as I feel like an old fart when I see twiggy teenagers wearing the same items. And it is everywhere so it will happen!

The dresses are extremely short but otherwise the sizing is fairly usual. Trousers/shorts come up a bit small with the exception of the slouchy trackie bottoms which are huge, tops and tees usually true to size.

nice dress going. I'm 25 and wear a lot of jack wills, just make sure I stay away from anything with big logos or 'wills' etc scrawled across the front. their plain/striped t shirts/tops are good for me cause I'm quite tall and they're long in the arms and body. I have a few dresses from there and they do tend to be on the short side but otherwise pretty true to size. I've seen people of all ages wearing their stuff

We first were aware of Jack Wills when DD's teacher - a woman in her 40s - wore it. She is very slim and always looks well dressed/presented, though in a range of casual and smart outfits. Have seen her in Jack Wills and A&F, among other brands.

It's why DD first wanted a JW hoodie!

Hmmm they don't have the 12 or 14 left online so I think I will ponder on it tonight and might go to the shop tomorrow.

As far as I understand it, now that their sister company Aubin & Wills has been closed down they have added some more classic (read older) bits to Jack Wills but I haven't been in to look for myself yet....

My dd says JW is too young for her and she is 16! It is worn by all the tweens here.

I don't think so.
Although the marketing aims at this age bracket, because that's where the money it, I suppose.
But I am 39 and have a few silk blouses and a couple of merino (plain) cardigans from there, and a pair of pajamas in paisley print. They're very nice but I would only shop there in sales.

Avoid the branded stuff, the horrible perfume and the flippy skirts.

Socks are also great quality.

Sizing is TTS I think, often a tad large if small chested.

It certainly is priced for teens.

DS1 tells me it's for teenage girls. Which is sad, because I'm 40 and rather fancy myself as a student at Durham or St Andrews.

I think they are trying to lose that image the teen image, though.

Their perfume is truly horrible.

isn't priced for teens, id have thought only grown Women could afford it.

Coincidently had an invite to the JW Outlet website this evening.

Think the target market varies tbh.

As said dd's 40 odd year old teacher wears JW.

Dd is 11y and has JW hoodie as thirst.

DH is nearly 49 and had a JW shirt.

It's aimed at teens who have parents who can afford to buy them naice leisure wear.

The marketing is designed to influence the teen who in turn nags the parent half to death until parent gives in for sake of peace and equilibrium.

But yes, I think they are trying to even out the demographic since closing their more 'mature' store, Aubin&Wills. I've heard they are going to concentrate on dragging the A&W market into the JW brand....so here's hoping something good comes of it, I really loved A&W!

Well I'm going to have have a look tomorrow, will be rather novel to be wearing the same dress as an entitled 16 yr old lol. Really want the pink striped boyfriend shirt too.

I really struggle to get my head round spending that amount of money on teens clothing but you should see them all crowded round the place on a weekend, you would think it was Mecca!
