Aveda Volumizing Shampoo/Conditioner

I have been suffering with intermittent itchy, flaky scalp and was complaining to my mum about it. She has been absolutely lovely and bought me some Aveda stuff as a treat, which I am very grateful about (on mat leave and can't afford any treats like that!).

I had said I wondered if the SLS in shampoos was causing it and the lady at the Aveda counter said to her they don't use them. I know there is a scalp shampoo but as I have fine hair, she bought me the volumising stuff, which smells divine. The ingredients on the bottle don't list SLS but further down list disodium laureth sulfate - is this similar and as harsh? She should really have mentioned that although SLS wasn't used, that other sulphates were and my mum trusted what she said and didn't realise!

I live quite a way away from mum, so she posted these to me and I since they are so expensive I really hope it doesnt flare up/cause any scalp issues. I suppose I have to try it out and after one use, my hair is very shiny and smells lovely, no idea about whether my scalp will be affected. It is a little itchy but that was starting before I used the stuff....

Does anyone use this shampoo/conditioner and if so, what do you think? I haven't used any Aveda stuff before! (sorry for the long post!). Thanks in advance for your replies!

I use Aveda moisturising shampoo and conditioner and it's the only one I've ever used that consistently works without needing to temporarily switch brands to get rid of residue etc. Can't speak for the volumising version Smile

Thanks! Looked up that ingredient and it is a sulphate but a different, less harsh one, even though the name is similar. Will give it a go Smile
