With the benefit of hindsight, which item of clothing/bag/shoes/accessory do you wish you had bought multiples of?

Mine is my black leather Jane Shilton bag. It was an impulse buy in Costco (of all places!) as I needed a new black bag for work. If I had known then how utterly perfect it would be, I would have bought a couple more.......... Have since bought other bags which are similar but none measure up to the black one.

Have plenty of other handbags, as it is a bit of a 'thing' with me, but have used the Jane Shilton one more than any other and it is now getting to the point it needs to be replaced and I really wish I had another one (or two, or three!) ideally in different colours as well as the black.

In terms of looks, it is not the most exciting of styles, but it goes with everything because of that - work or casual. It is big enough to get everything I need in and yet small enough to fit in my drawer at work. The design of the interior compartments is absolutely perfect as it has sections for everything, so I never find myself digging around for things and can separate items that I need to have with me but dont use on a daily basis from things that I need more regularly. The straps are long enough that I can wear it as a shoulder bag if I need to be hands-free, but short enough that I can carry it.

What is your 'perfect piece'?

My £5 dress I'm wearing on my photos on here. I did go and buy another but was too lazy to go to the big tescos in the next town. I've had so many compliments. I wish I had more and in all the colours.

I've a got a Jane Shilton bag from Costco too lol. It's a beige/ peach colour one. Absolutely love it, and get asked about it all the time.
I do however love my little Longchamp handbag (black), but omg, I've had it for at least 6 years and have used it off and on in that time, it's my fails safe little bag, and there's no sign of it deteriorating. I'm eyeing up a burgundy/ red one currently, but need to sneak it past dh first.
We currently live in Oz, but the tat here is not up to scratch. Gonna have to wait til I get to duty free to buy one in the next few weeks...sigh.

Goldsign virtual high rise jeans. I have them in a few colours but they need to start doing them in black!!

I am a terrible multiple buyer, so I don't often have this problem...

This is slightly different. I bought some black leather ballet pumps from Next and not only do they fit like a dream (I'm a small size 3 so shoes ca sometimes be a bit too big) but they are so comfy. The only other colour they do is white, which I don't like the look of.

I wish they did other colours like brown and red.

Last summer Dorothy Perkins did a range of summer dresses in loads of colours for £16. I only bought 1 as I wasn't sure how much wear I would get out of it.
Needless to say, I wore it to death and now wish I had got another 2/3 in different colours.
No sign so far of them doing them again this year either.

A pair of gold leather sandals from Primark. They were £12 about 4 years ago and they just go perfectly with everything for summer and are so comfortable. I have worn them to death and sadly they are now ready for the bin. I wish I'd bought every pair they had in my size.

I had some leather thong type sandals from warehouse about 5 years ago and they gave up the ghost last year :( I can't find anything like them now :( I end she I'd bought a second pair to keep for later!

Not for me but bought dd some lovely little pumps from matalan of all places and they go with everything, literally. I should have bought pairs in every size instead she has a drawer of barely used shoes because they hardly match anything and she's about to grow out of this pair. Can't find anything similar.

I generally do buy multiples of items I really love, and if I don't and regret it I trawl Ebay for them, usually with success.

I bought a leather satchel in the Boden sale last summer that is beyond gorgeous; I only bought it because the sale price was so good. I would love to have had it in one of the other two colours as well, but Ebay prices are rather high for them and I really can't justify it for a bag that is beautiful but that I in no way need.

A pair of brown, knee high boots from Principles. I must have had them for at least 8 years now and they are battered and leaky and really need throwing away. But I can't find any as nice to replace them.

Plain, three quarter sleeved, scoop neck t-shirts from M&S Limited Collection years ago. The best basic t-shirts I've ever owned and the morons at M&S stopped doing them. They occasionally do something similar in that horrible range that looks like it belongs in Debenhams with the sun hats (is it called Indigo?) but only in awful, wishy washy colours.

Plain black jumpers in decent fabrics - I wish I'd bought a million of these in the time before all the shops just started using acryllic or viscose.

I second Remus's vote for the M&S t-shirts...they were perfect but never repeated; they kept their shape and were just great. Wish I'd bought loads more.

Why oh why have they not repeated them? - nothing else has come close!

Finbar - I have even emailed them asking why they don't re-do them, but they didn't bother answering. Grrrr.

Yes. Those M&S tops were fab.
My mum bought me the best leather satchel I ever had when I was 16 and on holiday in Corfu. I would love a replica.
I also wish I'd bought some Clarks wedge knee boots in black as well as tan. May try ebay!

I bought a pair of Mantaray flowered espadrilles last summer and they were perfect. I managed to find another pair on ebay but it would be great if they did them again this year.

Babyphat jeans - built for those with an erm "urban" shape. They went bankrupt. Confused They fitted waist AND arse.

I'm the queen of multiples and regret every single one. Unless you have a difficult to dress shape (Freddie your dress may be the exception), they rarely make sense. I always prefer one colorway over the others and the the rest are usually redundant / clutter up my wardrobe.

I have some dresses from Dorothy Perkins from last year that I bought in a variety of colours - bought the red one first and loved it so got purple and green too (the colours it was available in were exactly the colours I like) - I wonder if it' the same dress.

Was it a knee length jersey type with a wrap style bodice, Trills?
I have teal, I really want navy.

Yep.

I have red and teal and purple.

The red one is a bit bobbly already though :(

I need another pair of my best Oasis black patent shoes. Already had two pairs - first bought last year for £28 in the sale then a second pair when they were reduced to £7 in the sale (that was a good day!).

I have multiples of these H&M dresses. I wear them as long t-shirts with skinnies and leggings. I have them in almost every colour they have ever brought them out in and wear them loads.

Things I have multiples of:

Goldsigns
J Brand 811s
American Vintage T-Shirts
Supergas
Maje t-shirts
Cos t-shirts
American Apparel dresses

Don't regret any of those multiples

interesting qu. i have never bought the exact item twice, for when one wears out, but i have very occasionally bought the same thing in diff colours. only when i absolutely flipping LOVE it, though, not as a matter of course.

current multiples are...

goldsign virtuals in indigo and grey
the diesel jeans that fit me best in two washes - one lighter and one dark
ash virgin trainers in tan and nude
converse in white and navy
havianas in silver and gold
me&em boyfriend tee in charcoal and am now tempted by the white as it's such a good length/fit on me (i'm tall, getting looooong and good quality tees at a reasonable price point is surprisingly hard)

i tried on a great tee the other day which i'm tempted to get in two colours but will be sensible and buy one then see how i get on with it

like amber I don't regret any of these, all v sensible buys for me and work well in my life.
