"AnOeufUniversallyEggnowledged thank you very much. just found the thread explaining how to do it properly thank you xx

I love knee length denim skirts but I think (unless you have a tan) they're really hard to get right! In my head I know they should look good with boots but I nearly always end up putting it back in the wardrobe and putting my jeans on instead... sad

GwennieF Wed 03-Apr-13 21:34:59

Sorry, that's no help is it...?

Fallenangle Wed 03-Apr-13 21:38:36

You need to ask her why she thinks it looks old. Is the skirt longer than you usually wear or something?

AnOeufUniversallyEggnowledged Wed 03-Apr-13 21:39:17

I was thinking similar Gwennie. I'm no style expert (I usually hang around S&B to get advice rather than give it) but personally I quite like the shoes, but think the skirt is, well, mumsy.

GwennieF Wed 03-Apr-13 21:47:16

I prefer more of an A-line when it comes to denim - as much for comfort as anything else.

DrGoogleWillSeeYouNow Wed 03-Apr-13 21:47:26

The skirt is mumsy. Even the model wearing it can't make it look good.

The shoes are fab though.

AmberNectarine Wed 03-Apr-13 21:48:19

The problem here is the skirt. I think the only way a knee length denim skirt will work is worn thusly:

Denim skirt

OneLittleLady Wed 03-Apr-13 21:54:34

It is the skirt. It's not the style or the material, it's the length. It's a hard look to pull off i think

chubbymomie2012 Wed 03-Apr-13 21:54:40

My daughter thinks unless u dress like Little Mix u look old! Its the same length on me as on the model. its lovely with the shoes but i cant fund something to wear on top. what about
This

or This with a white blouse?

chubbymomie2012 Wed 03-Apr-13 21:55:04

WooooHoooooo my link worked. :-)

GwennieF Wed 03-Apr-13 21:55:35

It looks lovely on the model, but if I wore those clothes I would look like Trailer trash!

GwennieF Wed 03-Apr-13 21:57:36

The Pinterest model that is...

chubbymomie2012 Wed 03-Apr-13 21:58:29

lol. you are prob right GwennieF.
i may have to return the skirt.

GwennieF Wed 03-Apr-13 21:59:39

Noooooooo..... Keep the skirt - there must be a way to wear it!!!

I do dress like little mix and I'm 37. I picked my 11 year old dd up from a sleepover the other day and we were wearing exactly the same outfit! <twat>

NorksAreMessy Wed 03-Apr-13 22:04:52

Aargh...Pinterest model is doing the silly pigeon toes thing to make her look oh so cute and ditsy.

As long as you avoid that OP, you will avoid random large-Norked women coming up to you and screaming AAAARGH in your face

NaturalBlondeYeahRight Wed 03-Apr-13 22:05:11

Give in to the dark side, it's comfy over here grin

I quite like the skirt, but then I like skirts <runs>

NorksAreMessy Wed 03-Apr-13 22:09:26

still ranting

chubbymomie2012 Wed 03-Apr-13 22:09:35

lol ye are all funny. i love it. i think the pigeon toe cutesy thing is cute but if i try it i look like a hunch back.
as for dressing the same as my 10 yr old daughter, i think idnrather be mumsy. id get banned from mums and tots if i dressed like that lol.

Librarina Wed 03-Apr-13 22:10:39

I'd wear that with black tights and biker boots, but then again I wear everything with black tights and biker boots.

I'm very keen on these and would like to own them very much

chubbymomie2012 Wed 03-Apr-13 22:11:37
