I am getting more and more discerning with the smell of products in general, not just perfume, and I think they contribute just as much to your "smell". I love the smell of Aussie volumising shampoo and conditioner, and I have an abahnabody lotion that I love that smells of. Honeysuckle. I love layering on lots of lovely smells. I have yet to find a clothes washing detergent that I truly love though. What are your favourite non-perfume smells? smile

Nape of newborn's neck in the first week or so (I couldn't get enough of smelling DC)
Hairdresser's smell (old-fashioned: bleach, hair colour and nail varnish - loved going there with my Mum and I could choose her nail varnish colour)
Musty smell from shed (memories about my grandpa's)
Fresh yeasty smell from raising dough (I used to love eating dough to my grandmother's horror)
Gorse (which makes my New Zealand friends go shock as it's a major pest there)

I also really like the smell of skin after sunbathing. Smells a bit parched. I actually think it must be the smell of melanin because my exp had olive skin and smelt like it all the time. Very unscientific theory there! grin

FrickingFedUp Wed 03-Apr-13 00:43:23

I swear bracken has a smell as well.
