I hate my clothes, need help finding new stuff!

That's about it, would really like some advice.

I'm in my late forties, size 12 to 14, dark hair in a curly bob, I have no waist, large boobs, no bum, longish legs.

I used to wear jeans and tshirts all the time but just don't like them much anymore. I can't wear black tops as have scalp problems so can look like I'm covered in fine dandruff. I don't like fussy frilly stuff.

I quite like jersey dresses but struggle to find ones I like that I don't look fat in.

I do have nice work stuff (knee length skirts and jersey tops, mainly black and white patterned tops) but need casual stuff.

I used to be quite hippy ish but doesn't seem me any more.

It's not navy - it's a sort of denim blue irl. It's deffo not little girl-ish as the waist is v fitted and quite slinky looking.

Not going to suggest specific clothes, but what is your body shape? You sound like an apple? Do you want to make a waist for your self or make a feature of your legs? How are your upper arms?

Do you have anyone in the public eye whose style you like - as if so then start a pinterest board and collect pictures of them. Start looking at recent pictures of yourself (get someone to take some wearing things you like wearing) what looks good? Why does it look good? Is it covering or revealing something?

I have done this and realised I am a pear with crap knees and I suit a line skirts which hit below the knee. Michelle Obama has a similar body shape to me ( except I have fat english upper arms) so I have a pinterest board with pics of her in styles I like. It then helps me to sort through clothes and stop picking things because they suit the model.
This also means I have given up trying to wear skinny jeans as my pear shape just can't do it and instead trying to find a decent pair of baby boot cuts

Have you thought about booking a personal shopper at somewhere like Debenhams? I was pleasantly surprised, I tried on loads on different things that I would never have picked out and there was absolutely no pushy selling.

I would book a session, say that you are looking for a couple of outfits for casual weekend/relaxed family gathering etc. and just see what ideas you come away with. Even if you buy something and change your mind you can always take it back.

Far nicer to sit back with a coffee and a magazine whilst someone finds clothes for you than trawl around the shops

I can't think of any celebs that have a figure like mine, they are all too skinny! I don't read celeb mags and don't use Pinterest.

I am an apple shape, would love to appear to have a waist but don't think it'll be possible. When I do wear waisted clothes my waist is very high so looks odd. I tend to wear long tops, they make me feel slimmer. I tend to wear deep v necks or scoop necks because I find them flattering but struggle to find tops that are long enough. I wear knee length skirts, straight, at work with scoop neck tops.

Pinterest is really good once you start using it - you can search for "apple shape style" and get all sorts of ideas

Right tall apple - I'm thinking Mary Portas, Zoe Ball (casual jersey blazers), Miranda hart off top of head.

Isabella Oliver / Baukjen does good long t- shirts, quite ££ but register for their emails as they are always having % off promotions. Their stuff is cut for tall ladies (>5 ft 9) they have a really long t-shirt and a coral deep v t shirt which would look fab with dark jeans.

If you want more ££, then Vivienne Westwood Anglomania drapey tops and dresses over skinnies would look great

this dress could be worn as a tunic but it is silk so maybe not that casual

How about a plain tunic over leggings with boots the same colour as the tunic, pulled together with a nice scarf? You can wear quite neutral colours as long as the scarf is somewhat eye-catching.

Also, try looking at Banana Republic for classic clothes that don't stand out too much but look chic.

I really don't like wearing jeans much these days, prefer skirts/dresses/leggings with tunics but can't find tunics that aren't too little girly.

I don't really watch tv much so really not good on famous people, tend to watch quiz shows mainly!

I can't afford Vivienne Westwood stuff :-(

Not too keen on blazers either (not being difficult on purpose).
