I just received my belated birthday present from my sister.

They look just like Clark's finest mumboots on me:(

God take them back and get refund - you won't get the full value on ebay.

I'm afraid they do a look a little like mum boots, more expensive mum boots, however.

I really hate the 'mum boots' thing - its just so silly.

If they don't suit you then of course don't keep them - honestly I haven't seen anyone wear them in RL who looked frumpy or mumsy in them. But then no-one I have seen included myself wears with too short bootcut jeans.

Mum boots are Footglove M&S specials.
Worn with v clean and slightly faded bootcut jeans and a fleece.

I've just googled them and yes, I'm afraid they do a little mum boot-ish.

Yes but Brunella they are bought like that.
Mum jeans are faded because they have been forced through the family wash and doused in Persil far too many times.

HOWEVER a special circle of hell is reserved for you if you end up like @noddyholder;s mum who is of the Lulu/glamorous gran, persuasion and is all flicky hair, silver jewellery ( statement) and turned up collar.

I love hearing about her Mum as I often fear I am soon to BE her!

btw "not my daughters" jeans belong in this category

I'm afraid I do know a mum who does wear them, but then again she wears them with a Woolrich parker, ysl muse bag and rolled up trousers - this is on the school run! So yes, they are for mums too but only trendy ones. Having said that, if you cut off the tassel it would just look like every other mid heeled boot. Nothing special and a bit clumpy looking. There are Nicer boots out there for that price.

No not mum boots unless you think Rachel Weisz and Keira Knightley are mumsy?
