Hi ladies in the know.... I am badly in need of new make-up brushes and am looking for some decent ones that don't cost the earth - any recommendations?

I really like the Ecotools brushes - I bought some off ebay from China for a quarter of the price they are in Boots and have received everything I bought (from different sellers) in about 10 days. Most free shipping.
I also received this foundation brush off Amazon this morning and really like it. Its very soft and well shaped (and only £2.45!)
I also bought a copy beauty blender which has made a lovely job of applying my foundation.

Real Techniques brushes from boots are good and not too pricey.

Another vote for the Real Techniques ones from Boots. Lovely brushes, I've paid lots more for less good ones.

Real techniques are very good and so are ecotools. I use a mixture of both with a few mac ones mixed in. Make sure you wash them often though especially if you have acne/ spotty skin. I do mine twice a week with johnsons baby shampoo. It takes a matter of minutes and keeps them lovely and fresh. Do them while dd is in the bath and they're dry by morning. Stops the transfer of bacteria and also means you don't start to muddy your make up as you're applying it.

Real Techniques. I have a good selection of Bobbi Brown brushes but now I prefer Real Techniques.

Another vote for real techniques. I have the eye brush set and the big blusher brush- both lots soft, don't shed bristles and excellent for blending
