BaByliss big hair - is It worth it??

I have long, frizzy hair which I can only get looking nice with GHD's. The problem with this is that it's frying my hair and it can look very flat (as well as now being in v bad condition).

I would love that 'stepped out of the hairdresser' look but is it just hype? Has anyone used this and does I actually work? It's pretty pricey so I don't want to be sucked in!

Didn't work for me. Looked exactly the same after I'd used it! I also have long hair - I suspect that was the problem.

Oh yes! Has transformed my hair. I have shoulder length fine hair that 'drops' any style after about half an hour and goes frizzy. My hair now holds the style all day and looks much more 'groomed'. Worth every penny for me.

I adore mine, got it for Christmas 2011, and love the effect it has on my bra length, thick heavy hair!

i love mine.

i have straight hair, down to my boobs now, takes a bit of experimenting to find the best way of using and the best setting but it makes my hair look like its been blow dried at a salon.

my hair is highlighted, when i use this is goes glossy and sleek, but full of body and bouncy.

im also very quick with it now. i just do it in layers, bottom layer on fast setting and full heat, next one on the lower setting, then i do the top layer also on lower setting.

i would get another.

I wouldn't be without my BBH.

I have long layered hair and the BBH always renders it bouncy, glossy and groomed.

Best thing MN has taught me Smile

Does it help keep frizzy curls nice and curly or for straigtening?

Keep the receipt. I have had 2 which both broke after a couple of months heavy use.
I loved the effect on my hair but in the end got my money back..

Thanks everyone. It looks like the jury's out still! Am so tempted but it's a lot of money to spend if it doesn't work. Maybe I will try eBay....

I excitedly bought mine used up all my Boots Advantage points after watching sali hughes' recommendation on video, she made it look SO easy.

have to say, I'm quite disappointed with it tbh. I've got long (bra-length), straight hair. maybe am not using it the right way but doesn't seem to do much for my hair, am wishing I'd used my points on something where you can't go wrong e.g. perfume!

Same here Framey - I am on my 4th one in less than 2 years! Shock. They either just conk out with a burning smell or the brush stops rotating. I use it most days but I generally look after my stuff and I'm not heavy handed with it so don't know why they break. Amazon have replaced them, no problem - I think they are aware that there is some kind of issue. Normally I would just ask for a refund, but I can't live without mine Blush - wish Babyliss would sort out whatever is wrong.

I've had mine for 2 years and its still going strong. I don't wash my hair every day though so it hasn't had heavy use. I used to straighten my hair (I have naturally wavy hair that if left to air dry looks like a bad 80's perm) and find the BBH much quicker and easier on my bra strap length hair. However if you're doing it for volume be aware that it 'drops' after an hour or so (on me anyway).

I would recommend. It produces bouncy, blow-dryed effect. I have long, naturally wavy hair.

I've got long hair, and whilst it does work, it takes aaaaages. I don't think the results are worth the time. I think a parlux hair dryer is what I need, think will have to wait till birthday though!

Hey Vicar (even better ref than mineGrin ),I just looked back at my order history .......it's actually way less than 2 years! Got 1st one in Dec 11, 2nd in April 2012, 3rd in July 12 and the last one in December 12. I use it most days, but other than that, I can't see that I'm doing anything wrong. Confused - hair is shoulder length so I'm not using it for hours at a time, maybe I've just been unlucky?

The best thing ever. I have loads of fine, shoulder length hair. BBH makes it smooth and bouncy. I wouldn't be without it.

Use mine every morning without fail on both freshly washed and on dry hair. Gives amazing lift at the crown and your layers will thank you, I look blow-dried every day!

Meh, it's a bit of a faff for not a lot of results.

Try it but keep the receipt Wink

I like it, worth the money, makes a difference. Especially for layered hair.

KatoPotato · 19/03/2013 13:11

I do think it depends on hair type, I tried it on my sister and it was very 'meh' My hair is fine, but there's lots of it!

Yes, to add, it does take ages if you have long hair, approx half an hour for me. I use giant rollers when have less time.

I think you need layers to get the best result. I blow dry roughly with my hairdryer until almost dry and then finish with the BBH. I use Loreal Extraordinary oil first and get a lovely sheen.

Do put the receipt somewhere safe though - they have a 3 year guarentee - I'm am on my 3rd one - they have all gone poof!

If you've got thick hair don't bother. It just tangles it all up and will drive you crazy.
