Have you checked out the Herschel Supply Co backpacks? I think some of them come with an integral laptop sleeve. Getting pretty ubiquitous here in East London though...

Mirai the Knomo Stella has done me proud.
I bought it three years ago when my commute changed and I have used it every day - except mat leave - and it's still going strong!
You get a good long guarantee with knomo too - who replaced one of my colleagues bags when it broke years after she bought it with a brand new one!
I guess its a lot for a fabric bag but it's doing well on the value for money front for me.

How about have a look at Purseblog? Guess you would find yourself something useful there. smile

Surfdome have a huge selection of backpacks

Have you tried Crumpler?

I've ordered from them, good service, good quality bags with 25 year guarantee, I think.

Yeah, I was going to suggest the knomo Stella, or the male equivalent isn't too blokey and is smart too - knomo

Ranshop In Liverpool had Fjallraven rucksacks in their sale when I was there recently. Not sure if they have any online but worth a look. Woodwood also do some nice rucksacks.

Was going to say Osprey Flap Jack, but now I like the looks of the Fjallraven ones.

I am on this hunt too. I have the kanken too but the problem for me is the straps aren't padded and really dig in with al he heavy stuff I have to carry around.

fedupofnamechanging Wed 06-Mar-13 18:26:24

Maybe something like this? It's a bit different, anyway.

Plumpcious Wed 06-Mar-13 18:25:14

Have you looked at Eastpak or Jansport? They're still quite rugged-looking but at least they come in a variety of colours and patterns.

nextphase Wed 06-Mar-13 16:37:09

Have you looked for a laptop bag, with rucksac straps?
Found these but think they more for notebooks.

joliejolie Wed 06-Mar-13 16:19:43

And money off the Kanken here!

joliejolie Wed 06-Mar-13 16:18:42

I have a Fjallraven Kanken. It caught my eye in a little shop in my town and I love it. I've had it about a year and I spotted it in Grazia the other week and they referred to it as an "it" bag! Ha! Don't know about that, but they come in really nice colours and are comfy to wear. Waterproof too.

I'm using a Troop one and that's not pretty either!

One of my lecturers has something very desirable (dark red leather, large and quite, quite beautiful!) and I enquired where she'd got it and the answer was Italy...

I haven't searched properly yet but you've just reminded me to do so!
