Wide leg trousers are they still fashionable?

I have a pair of wide leg navy trousers which I have worn over previous summers. Are they still deemed fashionable or not as all shops are full of skinny or slim leg ones?

No idea but I v nearly wore some to work today, as I fancied a change. I chickened out though...

Remus I'm keen not to make a fashion blunder but perhaps it's about wearing what suits you? Not sure if I'm brave enough

Anyone else got an opinion on this?

If they suit you wear them!! I wear them to work with a fitted top. I also wear slim leg trews/skinny jeans - wearing wide legged trousers doesn't preclude you from wearing slim/skinny trousers as well.

I'm prepared to be shouted down but I'd have thought they were kind of classic in a timeless Katherine Hepburn way...?

Ooh yes unrequited Grin Katherine Hepburn. I have no hips and they give me the illusion of having some!

See I really don't care about fashion but sometimes things can look a bit off-kilter, or at least feel it. I might wear them tomorrow and see if the world continues to turn...:)

My problem is that my legs are one of my better features, and wide legged trousers hide them!

Well I think they are fine as long as you don't wear it with a floaty top that's too nineties.

They are classic, if they suit you, wear them.

With a fitted top or tucked in shirt would look great.

I went for a short skirt instead! My problem is, I have to wear a jacket for work but then it can get a bit cluttered or mannish. Any ideas? I'm thinking maybe with a plain silk t-shirt tucked in, and then a cropped jacket?

Well the fashion police were lurking but I think I got away with it! I wore the wide legged trousers with a 3/4 length sleeve jaegar boutique top and I felt the look worked ok
remus your suggestion sounds good go with the silk t-shirt (to formalise it)and a more casual blazer maybe?

"Ooh yes unrequited grin Katherine Hepburn. I have no hips and they give me the illusion of having some!"

And I am pear shaped and have curvy hips and they are very flattering and slim them down.

I did it! I wore them with a simple, cropped jacket and a Westwood draped silk top plus v high heels. Got lots of nice comments but mostly about the top!
