Charlize looked great. I loved Jessica Chastain's dress. Brandi Granville was worst dressed and sorry to all the Jennifer Aniston lovers, but she did not suit that red dress. Jennifer Garner looked good in her Gucci dress. Jennifer Lawrence looked lovely, she is a young girl so perfectly fine to want to wear something more princess-ish.

Jennifer Aniston was lost in that dress she needed to be way taller to pull it off.

The darts in the dress of Anne Hathaway made her look like she had hard nipples.

Jessica Chastain and Charlize Theron and Sandra Bullock were the style winners for me and Jessica Lawrence necklace was lovely but I didn't love her dress.

Agree with you completely (and I love the shallow crap). I was slightly taken aback at Jennifer Aniston's frumpy look, actually. Her upper arms are too thick for sleeveless (mine are the same, so I can say that) and her shaggy, floppy hair was far too casual. Anne Hathaway looked fantastic: gamine chic, but marred it a bit with that backwards necklace. Things have a 'right way around" for a reason.

Nicole Kidman looked gorgeous, although her husband is a tatty scruff who needs a scrub and a haircut. Quentin T the same. Make an effort, chaps. No good enough.

Loved the clever structuring in Naomi Watts' dress: beautiful, clever design. Dressed generally seemed a higher standard than usual with less frights & horrors. Jennifer Hudson was unrecognisable - I don't pay much attention to entertainment stuff normally, and recall her being a size 18 or thereabouts - so was very impressed how how slim and elegant she looked. I suppose this is old news, but the blue dress was superb on her. Very inspiring.

Renee Z has had some work done on her face, she looked lovely but quite different - I can't work out what exactly.

Brandi G (who?? had to look her up) had a horrible dress that was just embarrassing, presumably someone pressured her to wear that, awful.

Nice to see so many 60+ women looking fantastic (Shirley Bassey, Jane Fonda, Sally fields).

Samantha Barks could have worn something a lot more special- she looked overwhelmed by the occasion and dressed as though she felt she didn't belong there, which is a real shame. Oooh. Couldn't stop self looking at EJ's afterparty link - dismayed that Heidi K's floppy boobs were out there for everyone to see: awful! She made Britney Spears look tasteful and restrained, which takes some doing. It's odd that a woman with faultless face and gorgeous hair like HK thought it was a good idea to get her boobs out like that. On a cheerier note, yet another person I've never heard of, Nina Dobrev, looked fabulously elegant and chic in a beautiful black & white dress.

Nina Dobrev is absolutely stunning in that dress- so elegant. Mikey Cyrus looked great for a young woman, and didn't fall into that B-list cleavage trap. Whos Emma Roberts? She looked great too. It baffles me why some of these well-advised stars with access to the best designers still so often make the mistake of thinking that we want to see as much tit as possible.

I think that dress just didn't do any favours for JA. She has worn some lovely things in the past though.

Heidi Klum, just....no...I mean, the bust and the cut and the colour. She has a good figure, but she has been wearing some hideous clothing of late. The gold makes her look far too old.

Nina Dobrev is on a TV Vampire thing. She's very elegant, I think.
AnneH's dress was a shocker. Valentino had released a statement to say that she'd be wearing them, but then she rocked up in that nipular Prada. Maybe last minute dress disaster? She's styled by Zoe thingy, IIRC.

Barely noticed Kristen's dress, what with all my focus being on wondering what she was on, and why does she not find something else to do with her hair.


I thought JLaw looked perfect. If I was a 22yo dead cert to walk away with an Oscar, (and looked like her), I'd wear princess-style Dior also. And I love her even more for falling over so elegantly, and for her 'normal' replies to the stupid questions she gets asked, esp in the post-Oscars photocall.
