Any HAIRDRESSERs out there? Urgent help needed pretty please

Despite requesting the hairdresser does not create ginger highlights as my hair has red tones which has a tendency to go orange guess what happened? I have had highlights done several times before and they have come out the right colour per request (light brown, dark golden).

Usually a hairdresses bleaches my hair and then uses an ash based toner. This time they used a non bleach colour initially (creating red tones) then to correct did more highlights (not sure what with) and a toner (not sure what colour) and the result is orange.

Can I buy an ash toner myself to correct? Silver shampoo is not gonna crack it this time and I don't have time to go to another salon to get it corrected before a wedding next weekend?

I'm not a hairdresser but I do my own highlights. I think your best bet, in all honesty is to cover the lot with a darker semi permanent shade for the wedding, there's no going back from orange streaks, an ash toner will only make them green!

I'd call the hairdressers and ask them. They know what they used, they know your hair and should advise.

I'd make it clear that you are not happy with the result. My hairdresser gave me a whole head of highlights for free when I was not 100% happy and I had no time for them to re-do my hair. I also didn't want anything too strong on my hair so had to wait for it to grow and fade out.

Hope you can work something out. I bet it looks nice. But, I know it's not what you asked for! Good luck.

Go chestnut. You will probably end up with a green hue otherwise or that colour of teddy bears.

Use castings and go for a reddish brown to counter any non Ginger bleached bits from turning green. Use two packets if you have thick/long hair so it doesn't go patchy.

If you already have a lot of red in your hair it will probably suit you more anyway.

I'm thinking the shades like Praline, Chocolate brownie and chestnut honey should do the trick to give you an idea.

Thanks all, was also thinking that a lightish to medium brown may be the way forward.

Not sure it's worth asking the hairdresser again as their stab at correcting it made it worse. Serves me right for using a cheap groupon deal (!)
