Do bunions look gross in flip flops/sandals?

I have them, just knobbly joints, not full on hammer toes! I have always worn flip flops or sandals in Summer, it has just struck me maybe this looks a bit gross??!!

I've got knobbly joint ones like you describe, I think they look fine in sandals. My mil has full on ones that are like a parasitic twin coming out of her foot and I can't look at them [hypocrite]

Have you tried the splints? I found them quite good for reducing the unsightlyness though I may be kidding myself.

I've just taken my socks off and had a look, they don't seem as bad as they did last Summer.... I don't think they can 'get better' on their own though Hmm curious!

I wouldn't worry about it . Not like you can do anything is there. It's hot in the summer and you need your toes out . Bit rude to say yes I think.

Yes they do but the socks with sandals look was made for women with less than perfect feet!

Mine are not massive more like bumps than huge distorted lumps ,but I wear Birkenstocks that sort of hold the whole foot and IMO they don't look obvious. sandals have a bit over the foot so they don't stick out so much. I think it is far more unsightly looking at muffin tops than bumps on feet.

Bunions and summer shoes are a nightmare combo. I have pointy bunions but my big toe isn't at too odd an angle. I don't like to display the bunion but most sandals with a strap that would cover the bunion aren't wide enough to do so (even though the rest of my foot is narrow ish). Single strap Birkenstocks work well, or SeaSalt sandals: both hide bunions and fit over them well.
