La Roche Posay - I tried it and it's fab!

I've heard Pinot ( and others!) bang on about this stuff on S and B but never tried it.I found myself in Lloyds Chemist last week and had a good rummage through their huge selection and ended up getting the cream for flaky skin - it's like the BEST moisturiser you can possibly imagine, it glides on and all your redness and flaky 'post cold nose skin' just disappears. It's paraben free and for sensitive skin so not full of nasties.

I went back today and bought the shower wash, cleansing lotion and moisturiser for rosacea - VERY lovely, helpful assistant suggested what would be good AND she gave me some free samples too!

While I was there someone else came up and bought some cream and said 'Oh this is great stuff, you'll love it!' - wonder if she was a mumsnetter? wink

Sorry for the enthusiasm but this really is good stuff and not too pricey either.

I'm looking to try the La Roche Posay foundation after reading about it on MN.

Does anyone know, can I get a free sample from Boots or anywhere else? (Can get to any major dept store etc)
BEfore I splash out on full size I want to know if I'm getting the right shade. TIA.

Quinn I'm hoping to have a drawer full soon too!

How come this stuff has only just come up on the s&b radar??!

I've been using the effaclar K for a week now and really like it. My pores are looking smaller and the blackhead bits are starting to disappear. Has definitely helped the under skin bumps on my forehead - in fact they all up and disappeared after about 3 days!
Will definitely repurchase this one - thank you for the suggestion everyone

Which toner are you using? There are two, the effaclar astrigent one, which is strong, and the physiological soothing one, which is nice and gentle and well, soothing! I alternate between the two.

valiumredhead Wed 06-Mar-13 12:59:49

I'm still loving the Cicaplast but the toner is REALLY strong - like nail varnish remover so had to stop using that. Also the moisturiser gives me a bit of a tingle after use, so wouldn't buy again.

The shower gel is fantastic, I have lots of dry bumpy bits usually and they've all gone!

Thanks Quinn, I only really need it for a few days a month after I've acid peeled. Apart from that it's not too bad.

KnitKnack, the Effaclar K stuff is amazing isn't it? I have a stash of it in my drawer, stocked up on the Boots 3 for 2 offer.

Whitershadeofpale, I use the cicaplast as and when I feel I need it, more so in the winter, as kind of a one off overnight treatment mask. Usually once or twice a week, instead of a night time moisturiser. I have oily, but ageing skin though. If you have dry skin generally, you could easily get away with using it daily I expect. My skin gets very easily congested though, so I only use it occasionally as a kind of ultra soothing, moisturising mask.

I have been using their products for only 3 days.

My husband said to me this morning "wow, Sam, are you doing something differently to your skin? you look really refreshed and healthy"

He didn't know I was using new products.

I've got (had!) a horrible spotty, congested chin (40 year old, nice) made a million times worse by recent bereavement and associated stress. The Effaclar K stuff has worked a MIRACLE, a miracle I tells you. I've almost got a normal chin again. Nose was looking a bit ropey too, and it's SO much better now. I've only been using the stuff since Friday! amazing. Have just ordered loads, I never want to run out!

Whitershadeofpale Wed 06-Mar-13 11:06:13

My cicaplast has just arrived. i do SA peels once month and get bad flakey skin afterwards.

In the day I use a facial oil and then moisturiser and a primer for spf. Where should I fit cicaplast into my routine? Shall I skip the facial oil while I'm using it?

thank you for your advice.

QuinnFabray Sun 24-Feb-13 17:19:14

these reviews on makeupalley are more varied and balanced - not to mention there's 194 of them.

I LOVE Effaclar K, I'm a product junkie and this is one of the few products I repurchase again and again. It's completely sorted my skin out. I use it as a day time moisturiser.

QuinnFabray Sun 24-Feb-13 17:15:04

Haven't read the reviews, but Effaclar K has absolutely helped me with my blackhead problem. You could try the Effaclar Duo first? That is the treatment product, whereas Efflaclar K is supposed to be used afterwards as maintenance. I love the K though, as I found the Duo a bit much over long term. Off to read the reviews now . . .

kiwigirl42 Sun 24-Feb-13 16:54:03

blimey, just read the reviews. maybe not.

kiwigirl42 Sun 24-Feb-13 16:52:29

does anyone think that the Effaclar K would be good to get rid of tiny blackheads on my snout?
anyone tried it?

I've just bought some LRP Micellar water to try as have heard such good things about it for make up removal

valiumredhead Sun 24-Feb-13 16:12:18

dry skin

valiumredhead Sun 24-Feb-13 16:12:08

For dty skin - CICAPLAST is great.

I ordered some more from Boots blush the toner, body cream and moisturiser! grin 3 for 2 woo hoo!

SorrelForbes Sun 24-Feb-13 11:51:54

Iamaslummymummy PM me your address and I'll pop them in the post this week (probably won't be until Thursday as I work away for half the week).

Iamaslummymummy Sun 24-Feb-13 11:38:01

Sorrel i'd love to try it. smile

SorrelForbes Sun 24-Feb-13 11:07:42

armagh. I'd like to know that as well. I have dry skin but get breakouts and have found Efflaclar M really good. However it's meant for oily skin! I expect I'd get even better results with another LRP product.

MrsDoomsPatterson Sun 24-Feb-13 10:58:13

How funny, picked up 6 samples of this in a chemist yesterday - off to have a play!

armagh Sun 24-Feb-13 10:50:53

Which LRP moisturiser would u recommend for dry(ish) ageing skin

Cybbo Sat 23-Feb-13 18:26:59

Love this stuff . Stocked up on holiday lastbyear

SorrelForbes Sat 23-Feb-13 17:35:49

I have about 10 sample tubes (5ml) of La Roche-Posay Rosaliac XL Riche Fortifying Anti-Redness Moisturiser if anyone wants them?

valiumredhead Sat 23-Feb-13 17:01:09

Well I have been using the shower gel and it has transformed my sensitive skin, I can't even use aqueous cream normally but this stuff is amazing!

Love the cleanser and my next purchases will be toner and a heavy duty night cream and possibly the body cream if I can get a 3 for 2 offer!
