White t shirt: the Holy Grail

The Quest: I seek a white T shirt. Many years ago I could get such a garment in Next, but it seems not any more.

Requirements:

White cotton, stretchy but not too thin and lycry (sp) so it rides up
Sleeve: short but not capped
Neck: round, definitely not scoop or v
Length: long enough to reach jeans belt, not too long so goes over jeans belt creating odd lumps, not too short so rides up over belly

Where does this perfect article exist. And does it also come in dark navy and black?

have you tried m and s or hobbs, although the last ones I had from Hobbs did have that lycra feel

I find Petit Bateau's tshirts to be perfect, come in lots of colours other than white. They are 100% cotton, but still have 'give' in them.

Have a look on mango's website

I will watch with baited breath, white T's are my staple all year round.

Used to buy loads from M&S but from the reviews this year on the website it seems they're not what the used to be,.......

M&S too long, too scoopy or v of neck.

Also cannot do proper navy, it's always a wanky indigo.

I'm checking out the rest whist watching the Baftas where no one appears able to deliver their lines without. Reading. Slowly. From. The . Autocue.

Does a fabulous range of tee shirts in different sleeve lengths and colours, with just the right amount of stretch so that it's not baggy but not too clingy. Usually have 2 for £15 deals and quite often free delivery.

H&m aren't bad either (and very cheap) but tend to cling a bit more.

Bouncey, I've seen loads of raves for UniQlo. I bought two of what I thought to be these tshirts last week, but they are very lycra-esque and keep rolling up. Have I bought the right ones? Called HeatTech range?

Thus far:

Petit Bateau: too long, look old even on website

Hobbs: no white T's

Mango: looked promising on shape, colour, length and then failed on having Mango stitched on front.

I always look at Mango and read Minge Confused

Hi MrsBert, I think the premium cotton tshirts would be more up your street. The heat tech ones aren't as nice - I think they are supposed to be used as an extra layer for keeping warm during skiing etc but I agree they look quite Lycra-esque.

Not sure if this link will work, but I have many variations of this one and they last beautifully. shop.uniqlo.com/uk/goods/076654

Watching this - I need a new one too and can't find one that's not too thin.

It does exist, but it is pricey, here

Amber - the neck is too high :( . The kettlewell one has too long sleeves making it look old fashioned. The M&S one is just horrible - like a man's vest.

I prefer this one

to all the others on here but would need to check it in RL to make sure its not see through...

Amber you've got it. That's it exactly.

Now it needs to be 75% less Grin

Agree with Gap. They wash up perfectly and keep that nice blue whiteness for ages.

Another pricey, but otherwise perfect tee. I stock up on these when on sale.
