In order to stop hijacking stormforce10's brilliant thread, in which she gave another TerribleCuntMum a proper bollocking (go, stormforce!!! - and link here for anyone who wants to cheer her on), I am starting this one.

The old Mumsnet Scarf, judging by responses posted to a picture, is just not serving its purpose any more.

Here are a few alternate options.

Please add yours.

Skull scarf with attitude

Gorgeous white and grey butterfly scarf - my personal favourite

More butterfly options, with international shipping for those of us not in UK

Not so great, but worth mentioning nonetheless

The Original Scarf, which looks great on the wearer, but of course we don't all look like that

I just don't think it's healthy for lots of women to all want the same scarf - maybe it's me that's stupid? smile

Can someone explain the whole MN scarf thing to me? I have heard about it on many occasions but have no idea what it is or, more importantly, how to wear it. Will it make me look instantly stylish asks optimistically?

I vote for the Zebra scarf.

In fact, I'm just going to buy it anyway.

iMe Sat 09-Feb-13 21:00:45

Well I bloody love the 'not so great' scarf, I've just bought it.

iMe's is lovely, and tis nice to see a bit of colour (summer is coming, ladies).

I have far too many scarves already, so I'm trying not to like too many of the links.

The not so great one is my fave, apart from the Cos one, which I love

I think MNHQ is missing a trick here. They should commission a range of scarves with tasteful butterfly/skull/Pombear/cupcake & bunting/whatever prints, with the MN logo carefully camouflaged in one corner (it would blend in very well with butterflies, for example). The uninitiated wouldn't notice it, but for those in the know there would be no doubt at all about spotting fellow NMNers. And they'd make some money out of it, which might mean they could reduce some of the tackier ads would be an all-round win.

The star scarf is £3.99 with free postage from china. What's the catch? Should I avoid ordering it?

libertychick Sat 09-Feb-13 21:32:42

I agree with Remus on this - why would everyone want to wear the same scarf???

Some lovely links on this thread. I usually get scarves at TKMaxx, also some good ones from Primark and Zara have great ones like this

Yes to TK Maxx.

I still want a fly print one.
And a burgundy one.
The bigger, the better.

Corygal Sat 09-Feb-13 21:36:36

Remus - yayayay to yours.

Liberty - that Zara one is gorgeous.

cocolepew Sat 09-Feb-13 21:55:16

I love the pretty skulls one. I'm going to order one.

Bakingnovice Sat 09-Feb-13 21:55:31

Love the not so great scarf. Great colours.

Don't like skulls. Also like the star one. I've got loads, but can I ask where the feck everyone stores their scarves. I have them folded and often forget the ones that are at the bottom of the pile.

Just trying to decide what colour to get the not so great one in...
