Getting a rosacea flare-up under control - aspirin face pack and other tips?

Hi, have suspected I have roscacea for about 12 months, right sort of colouring and age for it. But over last few weeks, it's gone onto another level. Looked elsewhere on MN and saw recommendation about face pack from non -dissolving aspirin. anyone know how to do this? my skin is puce, and sooo tight. Saw guardian article last weekend recommending various items, so rushed to order them - instantly worse. Got GP appointment Fri, which I am holding out for on basis that this GP is ex-dermatologist, but any ideas to help till then would be brilliant
