Ds2 has a tiny waist but long legs....where can I get trousers to fit?
Goodness knows where he gets it from but DS2 (just 4 years old) has a tiny waist and long legs and I am struggling to find jeans that fit. I would prefer jeans/trousers with the ribbed waist band so they are easy to pull up and down. He needs aged 4-5 for the length but they just hang off him.Any ideas where I can fin small waited bottoms with regular leg length?
Wow thanks for all the suggestions. The problem I'm finding with adjustable waists it the whole material bunching round waist I'm off to trawl the sites you have suggested to find something suitable . Thanks ladies .
H&M here but even they are too big - adjustable waists are very useful, got some slim fitting jeans from landsend for £7 each - total bargain. Mostly ds's jeans fit him properly for about a week and then they fall into the too short category!
Another one say H&M! Really long in the leg for age. BUT you are going to have to get used to adjustable waists. They are the only way to go. Next and M&S are OKish. But then we seem to live in Chinos, as they are the easiest to find for adjustable waists!
Tesco is VERY hit and miss - some are skinny, some are HUGE!
I'm surprised you're all saying H and M, they seem MASSIVE in the waist and although they are adjustable, I have to adjust them so much they look ridiculous with huge bunches of material on each side and then the bum looks all wrong.
H & M, PoP and a US shop called Carters are good. We normally get adjustable waists, never found any without that fit. I'm dreading potty training as its hard enough with a nappy on, with pants he's going to be even tinier!
Also, surprisingly I'm been really impressed with some Primark stuff - I dot know whether they cut them narrow to save money but have a few nice pairs for DS2 from there.
I'm struggling with shorts though - we're moving to Dubai soon so they'll be an everyday item but the adjustable waists can make them a bit bulky and I'm thinking hot, I really want to find some pull up style/elasticated waist ones that won't be stupidly big
quiller tell me about the slim cut boden - i did see that they had slim cut cargos and cords, but the measurement box still show them as having the standard waist size, so for age 8 that would be 58cm - so I had discounted them. Are they smaller in reality?
Definitely sainsburys, they do elastic band waist adjusters even for my 6yr old. My boys live in their cords- indestructible! Tesco often have really 'skinny' trousers, usually marked down in price. Asda are good too. Also M&S, but they are a bit more hit & miss.,
Ha good luck - my DS1 (6) has the waist measurements of a 5 year old and the leg measurements of and 8 year old. He refuses to wear jeans and dislikes adjustable waists. He too likes the ribbed waist trousers but the natural waist in them is normally 3-4cm bigger than his waist. I now go to shops armed with a tape measure and measure the natural waist of the trouser. Boden et al are a non starter - they are 58cm for his height, he is only 54cm.
Adjustable waist and ribbed is the holy grail - pumpkin patch did a pair a few years ago.
Had a big hit recently with M&S limited trousers - cotton, lined, ribbed waist, tiny waist - bought 4 pairs - but sorry they have gone now as went into the sale. This is a long way of saying, when you do find ones that fit - buy more than one pair!
