Ash Bowie wedges

Are they comfortable enough to be in all day?

I really want a pair but I've been told by 2 reasonably trendy mates that they are a bit last year and will be ubiquitous on the mum crowd come spring?

But I think I like them a lot.

Very comfortable, also ubiquitous on the (cool) mum crowd round here already, but I don't have a problem with that, I am too old to be cutting edge not that I ever was Grin

So comfy, I wear mine all day most days.

Don't give a toss whether or not they are in or out, I have the confidence to wear the things that I like, irrespective of what other people think of me (I was wearing them back when everyone on hear was saying how vile they were). I don't think Isabel Marant is about to stop producing her wedge trainers, because, horrors, mums are wearing them.

here, sigh.

I know, that is what I was thinking. I have ash wedge trainers from last year and everyone hated them. I was alone in my love of them round these parts. Just wondering if I can carry them off again.

I think finding grey hairs this year has made me question whether I can still carry some looks off!

Anyway I have decided as I am short and need all the help I can get!

Don't have wedges, but I had the virgin trainers before they were popular and my dh hated them and used to make fun of me all the time. They've grown on him over time and I'm gotten loads of compliments.
And for the record, I'm dying to buy a pair of the wedges, but can't get them past dh for another few months due to my sales shopping frenzy!!! I know I'll regret not buying a pair.

Having said all of that.....what is the sizing like? I'm a 6.5 and the 6 in the virgins are perfect. Think these run small though. I'm really, really tempted.

I'm 28 with a shed load of white hair - not planning on retiring to Country Casuals just yet!!

My DH will be a bit confused about yet another pair of shoes. Poor bloke only has work ones, walking boots and trainers. He can't understand why his DW needs SO many.

Country Casuals! Yikes, that would turn me into my mother. She was shopping there when she was early 30sShock. I remember. Scary stuff.

Ps. Good point about the sizing tho. I am a wide/big size 8. Have ordered the 41 ( my ash ankle boots and wedge trainers r both 41) hope they fit!

Mine arrived today and I LOVE them. I am a big size 8 and the 41 fits perfectly. They go with loads of stuff and I can't wait for the snow to be over so I can wear them.

My only concern is, I don't do suede normally....so your best care tips please.

Thx

I'd just spray them with a good quality suede spray before you wear them out and every few weeks or so after that.

I bought the Bowie wedges in Prune yesterday - waiting for them to arrive. I still can't decide whether I love them or hate them Grin

Def love them. Much nicer in the flesh.

Thx for suede info. Sounds silly but I have spent the last 37 years avoiding suede do this is a big step for me.

Yes I do as a rule but Uggs are suede and with a quick spray every fortnight they remain looking good < although that could be debated : ) >

What colour did you get? And are they high? I am hoping that they're just a few inches

I got the prune, taupe and black. They r not too high. Prob 2 inches. Just right really.

I got some new uggs (noira) recently too, so guess I should spray those too....

I will just be glad to stop wearing wellies. Sooo boring.

I love Amber's confidence to wear what she wants. Why are there so many people asking whether they can wear this or that and so many people policing what can be worn and what is mumsy? If you like something and look good in it then wear it - that's what style is! Rant over! Unfortunately for me the only wedge trainers I like are the Marant ones.

AmberNectarine · 24/01/2013 21:19

Oh I'll wear any old shit pseudo! 'S only clothes at the end of it.

The Marants are amazing, I wanted them so much, but the toe area was so shallow they crushed my big toe. I tried 3 different sizes, and I really wanted them to be ok, but £400 is a lot of wedge for shoes that don't really fit.

Got my Ash bowies today and I really like them! They're just the right height and really comfortable. Also really lovely in the prune.
