Long good quality jeans 34inch plus

I'm in desperate need for some new jeans but can't seem to find a pair that a) suit my shape, b) are long enough or c) fit in the right places! I'm a size 12-14 (probably a size 13 if there was such a size!) with 34 inch inside leg without heels, and 35 inch with heels (5ft 11).

I'm a column shape, straight up/down with a little bit of curve since I've had dd (and lost my flattish stomach to be replaced with a jelly belly) and my legs are skinny so whilst I can't always fasten a size 12 around the waist, they normally fit beautifully on my arse and legs. Then the 14 fits nice around my waste and buries my bum and thighs!

I've so far tried:
Dorothy Perkins
Miss sixty
Gap
Debenhams
Next

Long jeans are so hard to come buy, there's a limited choice. Even willing to spend a bit more money if they fit right! Grin

H&M are usually pretty long. I need 34-35" for flats and 36" for heels.

For skinnies I go to Topshop (only thing I don't feel too old to buy from there) as the Jamie style fit really nicely and come up good and high on the waist to hide my belly!

Zara are also pretty long but as I'm also a 12-14 I resent going somewhere where I can only just squeeze my arse into an XL. Bastards.

I found GAP Curvey and Straight the best... I got them in an outlet store as they don't seem to have them in normal stores.

The search for trousers to fit my 35 inside leg takes up far too much of my time and normally ends fruitlessly.

Cheers SoHo. Always forget H&m as there isn't one in our nearest city. Top shop used to be good but it's all skinny jeans and just wanted some nice boot cut/fitted long jeans to wear with heels. Will have another look in there though.

And Zara yes!! I think I cried last time I was in there as I tried an XL dress on and it didn't fit! Out of pure stubbornness I wouldn't buy an XL if it did fit! Grin

How have you found the quality of gap? I brought some year before last and when washed and lost their shape completely, was disappointed tbh.

I agree with spending so much time and it being pointless. It's crap. Everyone I know loves clothes shopping but I hate it. It's a chore despite me loving fashion and clothes!!

OP... I find GAP jeans quality okay actually, but then I'm always careful to wash on gentle cycle at 30c and never use fabric conditioner as it wrecks the shape of them by killing the elastane that all jeans have incorporated in them these days.

Uniqlo might suit - their jeans are quite long.

Esprit jeans are long. They come in three lengths, 30", 32" and 34" and are really good quality jeans. ESPRIT JEANS

I have jeans from Current Elliott, 7 for all mankind and Paige with a 34 inch inside leg. All of these come in inbetween sizes as they are sold by waist size with (in theory) 30 being a 12, 31 a 13 and 32 a 14, though best to try on as all sizes vary. I tend to go for high waisted styles as I am pear shaped but you could look at low to mid rise styles which would probably suit your figure better. Available from department stores like selfridges and then once you have had a massive trying on session and know what suits you can easily be picked up online for less from shopbop, yoox, brand alley etc

I've tried most of the above and the correct answer for a tall column (post DC) is premium denim. 7 for All Mankind and J Brand are the best for a leggy flattish bum - 34" is very easy to find and I have pairs that are even longer. They fit like a glove and I wear them all the time - I also have some H&M and Esprit jeans but never wear them as they do not feel great. Levi's have never been right for my shape and GAP can be mumsy. High street does average jeans for average people and you usually have to compromise (legs too short, fit not right). Column is not an average shape and once you understand that (=lots if high fashion is custom made for you) you'll find a lot of great clothes. I go for midrise - highrise can exaggerate legs that are already freakishy long.
Check Yoox and Donna Ida for bargain prices. My last pair was 60? and definitely worth it.

I have same length legs and like
j Brand
citizens for Humanity
james jeans...style hunter

Not cheap, but I've had them for 2 years, worn regularly and still look good.
They don't go baggy like nasty Next.

I have 36" inside leg and always wear Gap mens bootcut jeans. They come up to my hips rather than right up to my waist (which I hate and looks stupid with such long legs!)

Have you ever looked at the Secretsales website? Their outlet has really good deals on designer jeans, often longer lengths. There is an extra 20% off today as well.

P.s. they have 7 for all mankind, citizens of humanity, Victoria beckham and peachy bottoms in today.

Jigsaw - 35" I think and nice and stretchy so size down

Report
kikidee · 20/01/2013 17:47

I think Uniqlo might suit you. I'm 5'9ish and they're long enough for me and there's about an inch left over (tucked into ankle boots at the moment). They're really stretchy so very comfortable. Mine are skinny straight I think in a size 27 and I'm a 10/12. Although I've just looked at the label and they say 33 inch leg but I'd say they're longer than that. I love them.

I am your size, but with curves (small waist, wide hips) and my dream jeans are 7 for all mankind skinny bootcut, size 31. I would say they are a 35. I used to wear Gap long and lean in a 34" that was always just a tiny bit short.

7 for all mankind were ££££££££££££££££ so only bought one pair, but they are my ultimate dream jeans, best fit ever and look slimming.

Jigsaw trousers also long enough, often.

I am 6ft. It remains a struggle. let us know about the ones you ordered!

MrsRobert - I've got them from Donna Ida online, 54 quid inc delivery...hoping they fit (free returns though so that's good)

I'm five eleven too and have DPs, Next (dislike), Top Shop tall and more recently discovered that Primark long are long enough! Best to try on but a revelation! I now have about 5 pairs. Only bugbear is they don't do colours other than blue/black/grey in Long. Think I may start a petition.
