Merrell Ellenwood/Wakefield

After reading loads of reviews on here, I decided to get one of these coats. I had a fruitless search for the Wakefield, including squeezing myself into the last xs ink heather insulated one in the local tk maxx (looked ridiculous). It seems that everywhere is sold out now, and one coming up on eBay.
I prefer the look of the Wakefield around the middle and don't really like the flap down the front of the Ellenwood, but decided to get one, as I'm freezing, so got a 12 as I'm normally that.
It was delivered today, so I tried it on in a flurry of excitement, but it's horrid!
I imagined it being a lot more streamlined. I look like a dinner lady!
So wise women, is this how it's supposed to look or have I bought a size too big?

I have a Merrell Haven II in a 12 and it's quite fitted and very flattering. I bought it on eBay in December for £105.
