I have gone out and bought myself 6 of the bastards and 2 pairs of bootcut jeans. After everyone saying the only reason people wore them was because they hide a bit of baby weight, i thought hang on, i don't have to be fashionable in short tops and look like a load of old sausage meat wrapped in string. So i went out and bought some fitted but skimming/not tight 'tunics' and some shaper bootcut jeans from new look and i feel great, AND am getting no end of compliments and questions about whether i have lost weight!

So cheers guys, i love my new 'denial clothes' Grin

(now perhaps someone could tell me what mum boots and waterfall cardigans are and i may get those too)

They are brilliantly flattering aren't they?

I am plus size so find it hard to find nice clothes but the other day caught sight of myself in a shop mirror and thought how nice I looked Confused. That hasn't happened for some time! I was wearing black jeans, black boots, jade green tunic, green and gold necklace and a black, not quite waterfall front, more of a shawl-typ front black cardi. Unusually stylish for me!

Spuddy - if they suit you and you like them then enjoy wearing them Smile

Where were your tunics from - I think that close fitting ones are very flattering.

I also fancy some indigo cigarette leg jeans - I'm feeling a bit over skinnies

Yes, I'd like links too please! Funnily enough I was thinking about all my bootcut jeans that are hanging in the wardrobe and haven't seen the light of day now the skinnies have taken over!

Just a bit stuck on what sort of footwear with bootcut that won't look Mumsy?!!

i got a few from topshop but can't find links, they are jersey/ribbed material with a wide scoop neck and long sleeves with kind of rouching (sp?) at the wrists. They were about quid. I wear them with my shaper boot cuts and purple converse :)

Also a kind of jersey, long but body skimming, grandad shirt type one as well with pockets on the norks.

MrsCB - I feel the same about skinnies, I am after some flattering non skinny jeans that are looser around the legs. Have you seen any cigarette leg ones? do share please Smile

I agree, have just bought the smithy bootcut jeans from fat face, don't know how to link on iPad, sorry, have had a few compliments, not washed the jeans yet but they are soft denim and have some stretch. I also have that tunic/top from Dorothy Perkins, one of my favourites, have tried to get hold of another but all sold out do let me know of anything similar. I do feel like I look like I'm trying too hard and not getting it quite right when I wear skinnies. I think I look nice in waterfall cardigans too, so what if its all a bit mumsy, I am a mum, exhausted and a bit over weight. Come to think of it I have a couple of radley, kipling and cath kidston across the body bags that are not very popular on here, but in real life they have attracted compliments, I would like to think people don't comment unless they like, people never notice or comment on my satchel and river island bags never. Give me more links please.
