Who's your most stylish Mumsnetter?

AmberNectarine · 09/01/2013 10:34

I like:

Remus for her chic black/grey capsule wardrobe and VW dresses.

Polyhymnia for her lovely accessories and use of animal print.

MarshaBrady for her all-round luxe-fabulousness

Hopefully for her colour and style savvy and her leather leggings!

I'm sure there are many more, but whose posts and links do you look out for?

Wow, thanks! I'm very flattered, particularly as there are lots of people on here who I think of as truly stylish, including you.

Not feeling very stylish now - recovering from cold/flu and trying to get back into (self-starting) work routine.

But am about to order a pair of animal print slippers - probably my most exciting purchase of january.

You're welcome - credit where it's due! And I'm going to need a link...

Pinot for her nail/top coat advice - that woman is fab!

I miss jodi Harsh perhaps she name changed?

If you mean a link to the animal print slippers, I haven't had any original ideas - am just pondering suggestions on the current thread on here about nice slippers.

Was about to buy some Ruby and Ed velevet ones before Christmas in local shop, but decided they were jusat too much - but now this slippers thread has found some at half-price so may have to have those too!

Yes I like those Ruby and Ed ones too - sold out in my size though :(

I enjoy reading posts and links from DonaAna, as she has introduced me and other budding perfumistas to a whole new world of fragrances. She knows her stuff and is very articulate when she writes. I imagine she is very stylish, but I also think a lot of other regular posters on MN are pretty darned stylish too. I have picked up so many hints and tips from this forum. i have lurked a lot, but have passed on things that i have discovered where appropriate

Oh without a shadow of a doubt it's mrscampbellblack. I sort of know her in real life ( in a non stalking way ) and she is gorgeous and uber stylish. She also gives great fashion advice without being patronising.

Mwah Amber! Inspiration to get the blog back up after its extended Christmas holiday Smile

I always enjoy links from MrsCB (who found my Toast wool biker for me, which I love) and the amazing fashion and lifestyle knowledge of DonaAna.

But we need more House of Colour Dramatics (clothing personality) posting on S&B - I feel very alone sometimes!

Aww everyone Blush It's like Oscars night here.

Like many here, I started out post-birth, covered in puke and in unraveling yoga pants. S&B has helped enormously (special mentions to everyone on W&A, Vogue, and various color analysis threads and all the lovely MN ladies I'm connected with on Pinterest).

But nominating an individual can create a cliquey, unintentionally hurtful vibe (you belong, you don't) and S&B has never been about that. I think what's best here is the collective vibe of self-improvement, the genuine wish to change. Everyone here is stylish, or going to be, because everyone is making an effort and willing to change.

My favorite threads are always the ones where someone (often a first-time poster) presents a problem, and it's collectively solved. Threads where someone solicits advice, and others offer help, links and opinions. Because it's almost always a group process, it's difficult to nominate anyone in particular. But I've discovered so many good things here just by listening to collective wisdom.

I particularly love the Perfumista threads because we managed to turn an inherently negative attitude into a very positive one. Now it's all about discovery, daring, self-expression and sharing. Thanks to everyone who has made that happen!

You Amber
MrsCB
MarshaBrady
Hopefully who helped me enormously when I had my colours done
DonaAna for her knowledge and the way she can paint a fabulous picture with words
Mignonette for reintroducing me to things I had forgotten I loved
In fact all the lovely ladies on MN Vogue who didn't ignore me when I barged onto their thread and haven't moved since!

X post with Dona but couldn't agree more with her 3rd para. I came to MNV with a challenge and everyone was willing to help. I feel so much more confident in myself as a result. Thanks all!

I agree Doña. I hate these sort of threads and question the motivations of those who start them. S and B is richer for having variety. It would be a shame if as a result of reading this thread someone didn't post a link because it wasn't deemed stylish enough for the MN Vogue.

Really? Is it because you think I'm looking for attention and hoping everyone will say I'm the most stylish person in the world? I don't fancy myself as quite so insecure and needing approval, thank you very much. Thread is lighthearted and fun, or was certainly intended to be, and I for one enjoy reading about where the strengths of other lie. For example I recently stopped biting my nails, so to know Pinot is the resident nail guru is very useful. And if it gives Hopefully a kick up the bum to start blogging again then so much the better.

Often I find threads are only as bitchy and divisive as the people on them.

I do agree with Dona Ana, though, that the very best thing about this thread is the great, almost always non-judgmental, response - and excellent practical ideas/pointers - you get from posters old and new collectively.

Ladies, please give Amber a break Wink
She's überstylish and and early adopter who spots new trends ages before the rest of us know what's going on. We really need people like her here!

And hope I didn't sound preachy - but I genuinely like the collective spirit here. It's also good to have dissenting voices - otherwise there would never be any real discussions here.

MaryMaryatt for me. No one has ever given advice like her. If it wasn't for her, I'd never have braved the boob tube.

Unless you know the poster IRL, or follow them on a blog it is very difficult to know whether they are stylish or not. I have a mental image of some longstanding posters - Cyb , Noddy, Tethers, Cod, Mrs RCB etc because of the things they have posted about over the years, but I wouldn't know if they were stylish or not based on that. They could be posting and lounging about in their fleecy onesies.Grin

*Disclaimer - can I just make it clear that I don't have a onesie, fleecy or otherwise and that Tethers is stunning.

AmberNectarine · 09/01/2013 15:05

I dunno Dona, I just bought a very 90s dress... And Christina Aguilera has already worn it. I'm so passe.

Loving the idea of MrsCB in a onesie.
