Where to find nice slippers?

Swiddle · 04/01/2013 14:22

I'm looking for nice slippers.
Not cheap ones, not childish ones, not in the shape of animals, not slipper-socks, not slipper-boots, not Dynasty-style-glamour-heels-with-pompoms.... just nice slippers, maybe ballet style but not necessarily.
There seem to be none around this side of Christmas.
Any suggestions?

Bump. Or perhaps no one has answered because there are no nice slippers ANYWHERE...?

I'm very fond of my Isotoner ballerinas. Is that the kind of thing you're after? They're very soft with suede soles.

I really like the sheepskin ones from Hush, they keep my feet cosy. Alternatively Uggs.
M&S usually do nice ones online.

I bought the Ruby and Ed velvet slippers from Lakeland Leather they are half price so cheaper than elsewhere, I found a 10% code as well and their customer service is amazing. The slippers are gorgeous too.

Swiddle - I too have been looking for slippers that fit that description - most of the ones I've seen are awful.

I got mine from Boden. They are like ballet shoes, but velvet with a bow on the front with proper suede soles so should last me. They are Fab-u-lous, and Boden have 10% off at the mo.

Those Ruby & Ed velvet ones - can anyone tell me if they run large? I'm usually a 4 but occasionally a 3...

I would go for the bigger size, I'm normally a 6 but found them a bit tight so exchanged for a 7. But I'm also pregnant and think my feet may have grown a bit Shock

I have gone for some birkenstocks, which can be worn with or without socks (so are good in the summer) and don't look too slipperish - suede cloggish ones, not sandals
