Should I get one - seen the body and face one on eBay for £80 - cant really afford £180 - am 22 weeks pregnant !

I don't actually have a Clarisonic but I have a cheap knockoff from the states called a Pretika.

It's made my skin really soft. And lovely to put make up on. I did have a breakout of acne when I first started using it but I persevered thinking it was just the old dirt and oil coming to the surface. Glad I did!

I have a clarisonic Mia2. Only been using it a few weeks but it does seem to have a difference to how my skin looks. Brighter. Get the sensitive brushes though. I've seen reviews that say all the others are a bit abrasive if you don't have very touch skin (which is unlikely to be the case on your face).

I've been reading reviews and they say that if you have sensitive skin with couperosa or rosacea you shouldn't. Acne.org seems divided - some have seen major benefits, others have had to give it up after a short try because their acne got worse - issues with cysts, severe infection, even scarring.

Users suggest a test before buying: if your skin can tolerate daily caster sugar scrubs in the shower (and if exfoliation suits your skin), it probably will work for you.

I got scared when one reviewer who had been using it for 6-12 months said she got broken capillaries on her nose from it.

If you do get it OP,remember to be light of hand when using it. Glide the brush over your skin,don't press it right up to your skin and drag it across.

Philosophy Purity cleanser (Boots and John Lewis sell it) was recommended to use with it.

It did bring out spots in my usual trouble area but it's deep cleaning and will bring out impurities. I read from general reviews that this can last 2-4 weeks so don't panic if it happens to you,it will go away!

I really like it but only use it on days I've actually worn makeup. So some weeks it could be every day,others only 2/3 times.

Alis I've no personal experience but this is the review. She used the delicate brush for 4 months.

I'd really love the deep cleaning aspect, and many dermatologists recommend Clarisonic, but rosacea is a contraindication. I have mild rosacea and find peeling products and retinoids too harsh (even frequent washes are too much). My skin is in good condition right now, so can't risk it.

Oh and my take-home from what I read from various sources was that people with oily skin and big pores are the ones most likely to benefit from Clarisonic.

Broken capillaries can be zapped with laser, but am not going to risk it.

Dona I'd agree with it definitely being more for people with problem skin that's oily rather than problem dry skin.

Even though my skin can be sensitive it's more on the oily side. Whereas my mums is sensitive and dry,she tried mine and said she'd only be able to use it very very sparingly.

I can't read that review. I do know a bit of German but not that much

Olay do a cheaper one. On eBay usually called Olay pro x
I believe no 7 are bringing one out at some point too

Thanks brighthair I have good skin, which doesn't really need much intervention so maybe the No7 might be worth waiting for!

I love mine, I have dry skin in the winter and it's really improved also pores look much better a combination of clarisonic, regular acid peels and bare minerals. I use liz earl with mine, seems to work really well. I bought mine on buya power for 100 quid.
