It is this:

DO NOT get eyelash extensions, find them to be irritating a week later and pull them out yourself

<weeps hot salty tears from totally bald eyes>

I can't leave the fecking house, What am I to do????????

Jossysgiants Wed 02-Jan-13 17:24:21

Aargh I have exactly the same thing. My eyelashes now have no corners. Have just ordered a bundle of 70 false eyelashes to tide me over till the stumps grow back! cat have yours grown at all, in the last couple of days ?! I < impatient> btw i also used oil to remove and they still fell out. I feel like ringing the Daily Mail and telling my sad cautionary tale.

Revitalash/Peptalash is v good cat <consoling>

You get a vial of eyelash remover with the individual eyelure eyelashes you can buy in boots if anyone else needs to remove salon eyelashes.

Thank you

I still look stupmy

I;m going to get some strip falsies to help me till they grow back sad

CockBollocks Sat 29-Dec-12 11:15:43

I did this too!! I wore strip falsies for a few weeks, you can buy some really good natural looking ones.

I found the best were Katy Perrys (no really!!) 'Hello sweetie' or something like that - putting them on becomes a doddle after the first few times, honest.

Just to make you feel better my lashes grew back lovely, all long & thick!!

MAC do a lash growth serum thingy. Helped grow back my lahes lush and fast after a self inflicted lash glue incident hmm

ifancyashandy Sat 29-Dec-12 10:13:14

Not itchy no. But my natural eyelashes are shot to shit grin

giraffesCantFlyLikeReindeer Sat 29-Dec-12 02:19:18

my nails are great after shellac I love it! mind you much better than after acrylics!

SweetieSnowball Fri 28-Dec-12 14:31:19

I had a terrible experience with salon applied lashes the week before my wedding. I was left with gaps that I had to draw in with liner when the false ones came off attached to my own lashes. I was distraught, sobbed for days. In the end think only I could tell but lesson learnt, never again.

Love Shellac nails though but only keep have them on for about a month before giving them a break. Never had any problem.

JessBrodysTits Fri 28-Dec-12 12:15:06

revitalash and its equivalents are great

TeamSledward Fri 28-Dec-12 11:55:23

I've had my gelish nails since March, and love it, but then my nails have always been very thin and breakable. The gelish helps keep them a decent length!
I have wondered about stopping, especially upkeep costs but I pay £20 every two to three weeks and have lovely nails to show for it. Also my nail lady is a wonderful talker and I think I must have saved myself a fortune in counselling fees by seeing her fortnightly!
I have found using a nail oil helps the new growth keep some strength.

rhondajean Fri 28-Dec-12 11:44:28

My nails looked awful after 18 months of shellac.

It was fine as long as I went to the salon fortnightly, got it soaked off and replaced immediately. However I was decorating so I soaked it off myself and didn't replace right away, and I was horrified to see what Thr actual condition of my nails was.

VicarInaTutuDrankSantasSherry Fri 28-Dec-12 11:11:53

everyone always asks me that regards the shellac.....i always had the removed correctly at the salon but they starved my nails of oxygen and they got weak and brittle and ended up splitting, bleeding stubby ghosts of nails past...i did have them on constantly for 6 weeks though...

my nails grow really fast and are really long, but they took a good couple of months to recover and the surface was knackered from roughing them up for the shellac.

never again.

QuinnFabray Fri 28-Dec-12 09:10:29

Never had any problems with shellac or other gel nails. My nails are stronger since having it done, in fact. Are you getting them removed correctly? Or are you picking at them and peeling them off yourselves?!.

DillyTante Fri 28-Dec-12 08:00:17

Oh dear poor you op.

Is Shellac really that bad too? And importantly does revitalash actually work <short straight eyelashes>

catgirl1976geesealaying Fri 28-Dec-12 07:06:27

grin Charlie

Charliefox Fri 28-Dec-12 03:07:44

I've had them in the past and agree, they do look amazing but my own lashes came out with them too and they looked terrible. I've never had them since, tempting as it is but revitalash is a wonder product and mine are back to normal again now.

For fake tan removal, any old scrub in the shower but the real trick is to have your skin a bit damp still, then get an old, cheap, rough towel and use it to rub the tan off. Works a treat. Towel has to be rough though - doesn't work with a fluffy, soft one not many things do <rude> sorry, am still in Miranda-mode!

rhondajean Thu 27-Dec-12 23:38:27

I've had mines continuously for two years too cat and I wear contacts.

Nips like feck if you get them wet in the shower mind you.

catgirl1976geesealaying Thu 27-Dec-12 23:12:43

Did you not find them too itchy ifancy?

I was prepared to sell soul for upkeep as was initially delighted but they were really irritating me

Maybe not compatiable with contacts?

ifancyashandy Thu 27-Dec-12 23:10:05

I've had hem continuously for two years. Have solved baldy new born mole problem. But am financially crippled.

catgirl1976geesealaying Thu 27-Dec-12 23:09:27

Thank you all for patching me up smile

Have ordered some Revitalash from Amazon as per Bella's suggestion and am off for a shower with my Soap and Glory Breakfast scrub

If you see a sad, patchy, nailworn, eyelash free woman on your travels tomorrow, do stop and say hello to me smile x

VicarInaTutuDrankSantasSherry Thu 27-Dec-12 23:07:53

i used oil based remover and i still ended up with bald eyes....

there is purpose made lash remover that i would invest in for next time....i did have a baldy eyelash thread when i did it. clearly the message didnt get through to all!

catgirl1976geesealaying Thu 27-Dec-12 23:06:38

YY Memphis

Salon is closed till the 2nd and eyelash lady not back till the 7th

Had no choice

<pity party for piggy eyes>

VicarInaTutuDrankSantasSherry Thu 27-Dec-12 23:05:45

well. it all recovers.

i had 3 sets of shellac gel polish one after the other and it left my lovely usually strong long nails weakened bleeding stubs....6 weeks of continuous wear that was though.

the lashes grow back. promise!
your nails will survive and exfoliator does wonders for patchy tan! <clutches at straws>

Bella88 Thu 27-Dec-12 23:05:31

Catgirl, get yourself some Revitalash to help those poor babies grow back - think Amazon has it cheap.
