Not had a good look yet, but I got some great bargains last year.

SilverSixpence Mon 31-Dec-12 22:31:49

I'm 5'2" and theres about 2-3 inches dragging on the floor, so a normal sized person would probably be fine.. Definitely likely to be cleavage on display it's quite low cut

ChablisLover Mon 31-Dec-12 20:49:15

Missbeehiving - am also hoping the Mae skirt comes back in. That and the teia leather skirt.

Fingers crossed

But my order is yet to turn up - has been despatched but thinking its Xmas post delays

OhCobblers Mon 31-Dec-12 18:36:35

Silversixpence, how tall are you and how much is too long for the maxi? I've had my eye on it for a while but don't want to spend a fortune getting it taken up unless it's really worth it!
Also is there a risk of cleavage being on display?
Thanks grin

I ordered two tops to go with black skinnies
First one Delphine but going back as a bit cruise ship.

And vaudeville open top which I'm keeping as works with skinnies and a couple of dresses I have too.

Grr paying for postage there and back but hey.

Thanks again. May break my rule and order on line.

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe Mon 31-Dec-12 15:58:03

I'm 5'5 and they're knee length on me.

mirpuppet Mon 31-Dec-12 15:51:19

Thanks ladies. Also are the dresses as short as they seem on the models? I'm 5'4 and like knee length.

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe Mon 31-Dec-12 15:34:17

Yes - sizing is generous.

My order arrived today;

Penelope knit is a keeper as is Jack knit to wear for work.

Canberra dress is also staying but I'm sending back this because it was a very peculiar shape on me confused

I really want the Mae wrap skirt for work so hopefully it might come back in stock or come up on Brandalley.

PipCarrier Mon 31-Dec-12 14:39:13

What is their sizing like? I think I had a top from there years ago and it was slightly on the generous size - am I right?

SilverSixpence Mon 31-Dec-12 13:29:35

Hm tried on the maxi dress, it is far too long hmm shame as the fit is otherwise perfect

libertychick Mon 31-Dec-12 12:35:27

John Lewis and House of Fraser both have Great Plains clothing so you can try on there.

mirpuppet Mon 31-Dec-12 12:29:00

Nice stuff.

Anyone know a place to see and try on items in London? My goal in the New year is to try before I buy thus reducing time at post office and keeping unflattering bargains

SilverSixpence Mon 31-Dec-12 11:51:00

oops link fails

maxi dress
sweet autumn shirt dress

SilverSixpence Mon 31-Dec-12 11:50:04

Got my GP order - very pleased! Placed a massive order blush so i could have a nice post baby wardrobe, I just hope everything will fit!

Selina dress - quite dressy but very comfy and think it will be flattering, I can even squeeze my baby belly into it and it doesn't look bad!
Shrimpton shirt - nice smart shirt with concealed buttons for breastfeeding
Nouran top like the Toast overpriced viscose t-shirts but much cheaper. Lovely shade of red, comfortable and flattering.
Isabelle dress comfy day dress, and stretchy enough for breastfeeding
[ sweet autumn shirt dress]] nice print, not sure if i like it enough to keep as its "only" half price!
maxi skirt comfortable, lined (doesn't do up at the moment though!)
[ Maxi dress]] doesn't show up in normal sale section mysteriously, good basic for dressing up or down.

I think that's everything! There was some other stuff i liked which isn't on offer, probably just as well grin

Bought several dresses last year and have worn and worn them for work and just spent £80 on 3 dresses and 2 tops because they are a steal at some of the prices. Some other bits that I wanted are out of stock sad GPs pricing strategy is just bizarre. confused

SilverSixpence Wed 26-Dec-12 17:26:30

Don't think the prints are that great this time round

HalleLouja Wed 26-Dec-12 17:15:49

I know but it looks so pretty. Will avoid.

Trills Wed 26-Dec-12 16:12:42

I think that dress would look like a sack no matter whether you had boobs or not (sorry)

HalleLoujainHomelandWonderland Wed 26-Dec-12 15:01:14

Am quite liking Tilly and the Isabelle Jersey twist one.

I like this one but think the norks might ruin it Romeo and Juliet.

HalleLoujainHomelandWonderland Wed 26-Dec-12 14:58:04

Probably not then!

Might by some jersey tops though.

Trills Wed 26-Dec-12 14:57:01

The Selina with big boobs would definitely be a special-occasion dress

HalleLoujainHomelandWonderland Wed 26-Dec-12 14:55:10

I like the look of Selina but am petite with big norks so not sure it would work. I love Top Cashback btw.

TrillsCarolsOutOfTune Wed 26-Dec-12 14:49:12

I've ordered this Canberra dress and this Selina dress

You can also get cashback via topcashback - only 5% but every little helps. Click through from topcashback to the site where you are buying stuff, the money tracks and goes into your topcashback account, after a little while you can either have it sent to your bank account or (if you don't want to tell them your bank details) turned into an Amazon voucher which is then emailed to you.

(if you want to sign up but you don't like me use [ instead of the link above)

I bought a couple of jersey tops and dresses, thought the price was great for basics like plain skirts and trousers.
