Eternity ring

My lovely dh is going to buy me an eternity ring, but I'm not sure if these are good value. Can someone who knows about these things tell me what they think?

Purely Diamonds

Diamond Store

I saw this one in Goldsmiths too, it looked very nice, but the diamonds I don't think are as good quality (colour I and clarity I)

Goldsmiths

I'm a bit wary of buying over the internet, but only really have chain type jewellers nearby

Thank you very much

Don't buy a ring from Goldsmiths. Firstly they are overpriced. Secondly, my diamond engagement ring has had to be completely rebuilt by a jeweller as the diamond was set so badly, they first tried to repair it, then actually rebuilt it using new hold and a brand new setting. When I googled hard I eventually found bad reviews saying stones often fell out if Goldsmith rings because of poor setting but that they always say its because you have knocked it or something. For a ring cost a few thousand I expected better :(

When I get an eternity ring I am going to ask the jeweller to make one - unbelievably they are much cheaper than buying one and will make what you want. Find a local proper family goldsmith and ask, you might be surprised.

New gold, not hold.

By the way, my ring was only 3 months old when it needed repair....

Why not design your own and have it made?

Personally I prefer the diamond store one, but I find that you have to go and look and try them on, you may prefer a certain design but it just doesn't sit right on you, I found this with my wedding band - wanted something elegant and detailed but tried them on and found they disappeared into my horse hands and looked a bit naff - where as the chunkier plain bands looked lovely on me!
