If you have decent legs with tanned, even skin tone (not white, verging on blue at this time of year Grin) I think its fine. Exception would be if you are likely to be freezing-goosebumps are not a good look.

I am planning on fake tanning and going bare legged to a party in January but I know for sure it will be warm as it's in my houseSmile

Marks and Spencer do open toe tights which I've used a lot and which work very well with an open toe shoe.

I'm doing bare legs on Friday (although it's meant to be raining). I won't be outside for too long and everywhere is boiling once you get inside.

Keep your bare legs and watch everyone sweat inside the venue whilst you're cool Grin

Although I'm also out tonight but am wearing tights as I'm going on the train!

I go to a lot of parties and the bare legs look has been a no-no this winter. (I'm in Italy and everyone still has a good tan left from a sunny autumn.) Don't see many open-toe shoes any more either, I think fashion has moved on.

I see lots of women looking very glam in both black opaques (often paired with statement shoes - last night, vertiginous cobalt block heels and a very slim bare-shouldered LBD) or sheer black tights. Some women have also experimented with lace/brocade tights and I've seen some looks that are very good.

I've also seen quite a 40+ women successfully sporting the mod look - a very plain and short A line dress made from good quality thick silk/cashmere jersey worn with coordinating-color warm tights and short and tight boots. Someone looked superb wearing this combo (in pale cream) last night - she made everyone else look overdressed and fussy.
