Looking for inspiration. I need a dress to do both events above so glam.enough for a christmas party but demure enough for a wedding.

I have bigggg arms and a tum how long can I call it a Baby Belly? so Ideally somethig that will flatter / hide those. I am short and a 12 or 14 depending on the shop. Dark hair.

Please be link heavy!!

Thanks all.

How about something like this from Monsoon?

Report
LittlePandaBear · 05/12/2012 20:57

Or this from Oasis?

Or shall I keep looking?

Budget please OP?!

And shoes, can you do big heels?

Report
GoldPlatedNineDoors · 05/12/2012 21:04

Ooh thanks for the links. The Monsoon one takes me to their homepge but that might be as im on my phone. I like the Oasis one but am scared of the brightness Grin

Budget circa £100. Can wear heels, and would like to be able to wear black.opaques (unless full length of course)

Monsoon one is called Lussac lace dress.

I agree the Oasis one is a bit too pink for me too!

Like this one, the model is wearing opaques and heels!

I have this and it's FABULOUS.

I shall be wearing it with a shrug (to solve arm problem).

Saw this and this instore yesterday and they are pretty. Also love the first Monsoon suggestion.

Maybe libelula sales dress? I had one in the sale for £130 and it skimmed over my tummy beautifully, had sleeves and looked lovely with opaques. Don't know how to link but just google libelula and see their dresses. V good for womanly figures.

I shall certainly google Libelua sales dress. I love the first one linked from Monsoon, and really like the peacock one from there too.

Bit scared of the red too Grin

Not sure on the peplum one, seems a bit old (am 27) even though in theory it shouldn't (and probably only seems that way to me).

Love the Bravissimo one, but am not very booby, so not sure what the fit will be like.

You need this! and it's on sale at £63.50. It's perfect and I'm forever recommending it, for winter weddings especially.

This is well over budget but it's a stunner, very flattering, won't date and comes in a good choice of colours. I prefer this version of the same dress, less arm coverage but wearable almost all year round and more choice in colour too. Would be a worthwhile investment Wink

«faints» at hyvas suggestion. It is perfect. THE one. No oxblood in my size so that makes the choice between oxblood and navy easy Grin

It's a fab dress. Missed it by not refreshing before I posted, it is indeed perfect.

Accessory wise, loads goes with navy. Metallics is the classic of course but it looked pretty aging IMHO. M&S special.Colour is better, muted or bright THese are stupidly high, but the colour would be fab with navy, this colour is another good one.

Races in looking for hyvas .... where are you?

I ordered the ASOS dress, it came, I tried it on and I could kiss you. It is classy, eell fitted, perfect length, perfect colour, the bow hides my tum and the sleeves hide my wings.

I literally love you.

I wish I'd seen this thread before I bought my dress, but I am tempted by Hyva's dress too. I am 12; do I need 14?

Report
GoldPlatedNineDoors · 16/12/2012 14:47

Im a 12/14 ( 12 bust and thighs, 14 arms and tummy) and I went for the 14. It fits perfectly everywhere due to the stretchy material, except for the shoulders where it is a snidge loose. Im a C cup but theres room for bigger boobs in it.

I went out and bought purple shoes and bag as per someones suggestion upthread. The navy is v.v.dark.
