Dress for size 18

goodmum123 · 01/12/2012 17:52

I am going to a smart dinner dance on New Year's Eve and wondered if anyone has seen a decent long dress.

I'm size 18 but have a decent boobage (if you get my drift). My legs and tummy aren't great as have still not lost baby weight (2 years later!)

So i need:
top arm coverage or long sleeves
Long dress to cover legs
V necked
Shoes suggestions

Honestly I haven't a clue, all sense of fashion and what looks good has gone out of window so please help x

There's also Curvety, I believe - a bit more upmarket - though, as someone who's also large, (larger than you), I always prefer to get my things from non-specialist 'plus' size retailers, as the great majority of them are so dire. You should have a pretty good choice of mainstream labels if you're only a size 18.

Will have a think about specific labels I'd recommend.

I have this one and it's very flattering. You could always put a little wrap over it if you needed to cover arms.

This is lovely, full-length and long-sleeved but not a v neck

That coast one is lovely, I think.

The Monsoon is a stunning colour but too shiny for my taste - anyway, their site would definitely be a good place to look. Phase Eght look like a good source too.

As well as the Debenhams site, the John Lewis one is quite a good place to look at different brands.

I also love Hobbs but haven't checked their long dresses.

Www.igigi.com although the aforementioned survey stock a few. Absolutely designed to showcase a rack and I got married in one of their gowns!

Also in plum. You should probably size down in it.
