The best lip balm?

my lips have gone dry and sore. what's the best lip balm for this - I don't really know what's caused it, and nightly applications of Vaseline aren't helping!

Carmex without a doubt. Discovered it about 5 years ago and now don't use anything else and have about 5 pots of it around the house. Costs £2 from Boots and will repair lips overnight. Love it!

M and S pure. I got it as other lip balms were drying my lips out. The majority of ingredients are natural and its only a fiver!

If you want more expensive then Decleor which I also like but it has a strong( although nice) smell (for me at least)!

I really like Burt's Bees beeswax lip balm.

It's minty though, if you don't like that.

Kiehls lip balm is the business. Only one I've found which isn't scented and moisturises as well as acting as a barrier. Expensive but lasts ages

carmex. I used to bring it back in my suitcase before they started selling it here.

I like Mac tinted lip balm or Model's Own. Both come in pots which are a bit of a faff as you need a brush too. I like colour on my lips otherwise i look like death warmed up. Elizabeth Arfen 8 hour lip balm(tinted) is good too

Carmex. Especially if you can find the minty one on a tube.

Blisteze is great for very sore, chapped lips. Otherwise, I second the Burts Bees rrecommendation.

Dermalogica,it's an exfoliater as well. Also Jo Malone and Kiehls.

Carmex. We just had a thread like this a couple of weeks ago and it was 95% carmex, 5% other.

Another vote for Carmex. Brilliant stuff, and cheap too. Eight hour cream by Elizabeth Arden is good too, plus that medicated Blisteze stuff that comes in the tiny metal tube.

I think the main thing to do if you have dry lips though, is to make sure you're properly hydrated. I never get chapped lips if I'm drinking enough water/herbal tea/juice.

Waitrose baby bottom butter is good. Vaseline's molecules are bigger than vegetable or animal oils are so it doesnt soak in as well, hence it's a barrier more than a moisturiser.
