Please lovely ladies,

I need some perspective here as people keep telling me I'm as I should be but not sure I agree....

I am 5 ft 8 , at the minute I weigh 11 st 8lb. Classic apple shape, 34ff boobs but good pair of legs! I feel I'm still fat at this weight even though I'm largely in a size 12 top and (mostly) bottom. Realistically though I'm pushing 40 so really struggling to lose anymore weight (i drink too much red wine if truth be told!)

So, what do other ladies with similar stats to me weigh?
Should I be hitting the spin bike and shakes or relaxing a little

Thanks grin

I'm just under 5'8'' and currently roughly around 8 and a half stone

I worked really hard to get my BMI up to healthy range when we started fertility treatment but after my miscarriages I lost all the weight and found it hard to summon the motivation to get it back up.

I'm size 18/20 and I swear I stress less over my size/weight than my slim friends! smile

ItsNachoCheese Tue 07-Mar-17 23:03:18

Im 5ft 8 amd currently 12st 9. I have at least a stone to lose from having ds nearly 2yrs ago as well as the saggy overhang but its bloody hard sad i dont look "fat" though im in proportion

5'7'' and about 8st 8ish, size 8-10. I'm about 5lbs over my happy weight at the moment (not disordered! Just have a really small frame so a few lbs goes straight on my tummy and inner thighs). Yet my friend who is a much shorter 5'4'' can happily go up to 12 stone and look absolutely fine! I think there's so much variation in the way weight is carried. Don't put too much store by the numbers, go on how you feel.

5ft7, 9st 7lb, small framed and a size 10. Could easily lose 5-6lb and not be too skinny. I am quite fit but carry extra weight on stomach, arms and face after kids.

AteRiri Tue 07-Mar-17 22:45:30

Whatever the weight, at least, we have nice legs, right girls? smile

spankhurst Tue 07-Mar-17 22:22:48

I weigh 14 stone ish and wear a 14. I am big framed and was relatively heavy even when a size 10 back in the 80s. People carry weight tremendously differently. My waist-hip ratio is fabulous!

Ohyesiam Tue 07-Mar-17 22:11:11

I'm 5'8", and can look good clothed at 12 stone, but of I want to look good in a swimsuit , 11 stone Max. Pre kids I probably hovered around 10 stone.
At 49 I think it's ok to be a stone heavier than in my 20 s.
You sound the same shape asd me, I wish all of me was add good as my legs!

AteRiri Tue 07-Mar-17 21:36:27

13 stones and 5 pounds - size 16.

I feel really heavy. I used to be 11 stones 7 pounds two years ago and a size 14 on top, 12 bottom (big upper body).

I've been as heavy as 16 stones in my life. Oddly enough, when I was heavier, it didn't seem to bother me as much.

I think 10 stones would be perfect for me at this height.

Sciurus83 Tue 07-Mar-17 21:19:22

Around 9st, size 8-10

ArriettyClock1 Tue 07-Mar-17 21:08:52

I am 5' 7.5 and have to say that over 11stone I would feel and look really fat.

I look slim at 10st 4 but my perfect weight is 9.5 stone.

At 5'8" I weigh 62kg, yes I know I am mixing metric and imperial!

But I have an athletic (read, flat-chested) build. Size 10 in most shops.

Cloudhopping Tue 07-Mar-17 18:27:36

I'm 5ft 9, 10stone 10 and am a 12 - 14. I've got big boobs - 32E and a big bum/ thighs on a fairly small frame. I do a moderate amount of exercise but my body fat percentage is quite high. Would love to feel more toned and less 'curvy'.

Blinkyblink Tue 07-Mar-17 18:14:17

5.7 (.5) and 8 stone exactly.

Very fit, very healthy but eat quite a bit.

I don't look scrawny apparently and everything in proportion. I'm just very very slender.

humanfemale Tue 07-Mar-17 18:02:22

I'm always amazed too by the range of weights and sizes!

I am 5, 9", size 12 and 10 st 10lbs. Pretty muscular build and fairly large frame - my personal ideal is 10.5 stone and the lightest I've ever been is 9st 11 lbs - that was too thin.

Theconifers25 Tue 07-Mar-17 17:49:31

And 5"8

Theconifers25 Tue 07-Mar-17 17:49:05

19 stone and size 22.

BWatchWatcher Tue 07-Mar-17 17:37:29

I'm 5'9 and 12 stone/77 kilos.
I'm muscley though and my tummy is flat. I'm a plough pulling shot put heaving type of woman!

user1487519954 Tue 07-Mar-17 17:01:39

I'm 5 7 and a half and 11st 7 at the moment. (mid 20s)
Been slowly losing weight since I was 12st 4 last summer!
I think my ideal weight would be 10st 4, I stopped growing at 15 and was this weight aged 15-20 give or take a pound or two!
I'm a size 12-14 btw, was a 10-12 at 10st 4.

oldwife Tue 07-Mar-17 16:56:54

It is. I saw a reply from myself back there.

I've clearly spent too long on mnet grin

Just so you all know - This thread is 5 years old!!

dailystuck71 Tue 07-Mar-17 16:51:37

5'7. 11 stone. Was 10.5 and want to get to that again. Body not doing it though.

It's easy enough to check on the nhs website to see the normal BMI range for your height which is 8st 10lb to 11st 11lb. What is your waist measurement? Waist to hip ratio should be <80% (so e.g. 31' waist, 39' hips is fine), and your waist measurement should be less than half your height. You should be doing 150 minutes of moderate exercise (e.g. fast walking, slow swimming) a week or 75 minutes vigorous exercise (e.g. running or fast swimming) and at least 2 sessions of strength training (yoga or weight count). If you do that are your weight you are fine, the health of your heart is actually more important than being tiny. A fit person with a BMI of 25 is healthier than an unfit person with a BMI of 18. And will feel a lot better as well.

You get very warped views of what is acceptable here, I can understand to a certain extend. I'm much shorter than you but have recently lost about a stone. I know I've lost weight and I know I've lost inches on my bust, hips and particularly waist (I do exercise every day). My clothes are now all between comfortable and loose and I'll no doubt start having to look at smaller sizes soon. But when I look at myself in the mirror when I'm naked I don't feel particularly smaller. The weight changes too slowly (as you go up and as you go down) for it to really be noticeable, the only people who comment on it are those who haven't seen me for a while.

I8toys Tue 07-Mar-17 12:28:49

I'm 5ft 8 and 9st 11. Too much for me and I have a belly. My ideal would be 9st-9st 7. I can be anything from a size 6 to 12 dependent on shop!

user1488843780 Mon 06-Mar-17 23:48:26

I am 5''8 and weigh 11stone now (67kg) and am happy to say, don't worry about it!! I am 17 (Birthday was a week ago) so believe me, you're doing splendidly! I will likely gain weight as I get older as I am still developing, so don't worry about weighing 11stone 8lbs, that is a perfectly healthy BMI!

I know I am very late to this thread, but thought I would post anyway, just so you know - there isn't anything wrong with you!
