Shape wear AKA big pants

I bought some big support pants to wear under a slinky frock, the sort that goes up to your bra.
They looked awful, I had a pouch of back fat then they rolled down mid evening, I ended up taking them off.
M&S seem to be a slip that you wear with your own bra, has straps so no rolling but its 32# which seems pricey.
I don't have too bad a tummy but have got an awful muffin top which needs smoothing.
Any ideas?

Am I the only one who needs to squash my lumpy body?

Spanx are pretty good I think - expensive but seem to really work, not rolling down etc. It's quite an event going for a wee though...

Not sure if this link'll work, but this is the seriously unglamorous garment. The plus side would be easy access to the loo.

I bought shaping tights to go under my slinky frock. Got them in M&S, they cost 8 quid.

Tried them on last night and they're fab, comfy but very smoothing. Tbh they look a bit like cycling shorts at the top. Not v sexy, but the dress will go over all that!

I bought two pairs of m and s big pants- one 29.50 firm control and one 19.50 light control. The control was similar but the dearer ones are more comfy- quite pleased with them.

I had a all in one body wear your own bra thing from m and s for under my 40th birthday frock- not bad.

To report back.
I've tried on & bought the M&S medium support slip thingy today & think I will be pleased with the results.
It was a bit of a struggle getting on but definitely smoothes out the lumps & seems much more comfortable to wear than big pants.
Not terribly sexy though.
