Winter dry skin - best moisturiser?

I think I need something more heavy duty than my current moisturisers, both for day and night. My skin is usually normal/combination but currently looking very dry.

Budget: up to about £50.

Suggestions please!

I have very dry skin and I use Astral Cream (around £3 I think). It is v heavy but perfect for me in the winter !

i have extremely dry skin and moisturiser is not enough, so now I use a skin oil first, wait a few minutes (I have breakfast) and then apply moisturiser. This is my favourite ever, as good as Clarins at least,

Rosehip oil is also great.

Plain dirt cheap Astral here too, it seems to be the only thing working at the minute for me- that and washing in aqueous cream then using that to moisturise in the morning and Astral at night.

Burts Bees is v good as well though.
