It's fashion, but there's nothing wrong with that. Personally, if I wasn't quite experienced with home dyeing it's not something I'd try myself. Go on, have it done. If you don't like it you can dye it out.
Its a lovely look imo. Its one of the fashions anyone can try. Its very easy to do at home. You don't need a special kit. Just don't try going too much lighter or darker until you're confident you like the look. The beauty of this technique is that you don't need a steady hand. My way of doing it is quite easy. Brush your hair out to get rid of knots. Tie it into a ponytail and then put in another elastic (no metal) bobble upto the bit where you want the colour to begin. Grab hand fulls of the dye and spread it on. Try not to put too much near the bobble. This makes a fading effect.
