I was bought a real one as a Christmas pressie last year, and I love it. Now wanting a weekender bag for hospital bag and use as handluggage in future, but having looked at prices for the real thing, I'm not prepared to pay that much!
Ive seen a very nice replica on a website called lvbagshop but I just wondered if anyone had bought from here before and are the bags good or bad? The straps and fittings are all leather apparently (my friend has a replica with horrible shiny plastic straps and I'm a real stickler for leather straps as they go nice and soft with use)

I was given a replica Chloé Paddington once. It was real leather, looked really nice, but it lasted maybe 6 months? The straps fell apart and they were all padded with cheap material scraps.
I love nice handbags, but would rather stick to what I can afford in genuine labels, and my budget wouldn't stretch to a LV weekender neither. LV never discount, I'd go to the outlets and look at brands that do have sales like Gucci.

I woul be careful about taking an expensive bag into hospital as there are lots of people you don't know coming in and out and you will be mostly concentrating on your new baby.

I have had one replica bag and it made me feel dirty so I would say don't do it, just wait and save until you can afford it.

In Italy, knockoff Vuittons are worn maids, cleaners, recent immigrants etc. It's a clear class sign - probably a bit like Burberry check in Britain.

yeah, my paddington was. There are some really good imports now, but it's never going to be the same. TBH once you have the real thing, you won't be satisfied with a fake!

And I can't find a bag that I like that is big enough to fit mine and babies stuff in (will be in for a couple of days) and that I would want to use as handluggage afterwards, I'm not shelling out for a bag just to use it once!

Personally I'd rather spend £100 on a lovely bag that wasn't fake. I'd feel a bit grim with a fake one. If I ever had that much cash to spend on a bag, I'd want to know that it was well made and would last years.

That's the thing, it would have to be indistinguishable as a replica for me to entertain it, so the straps have to be leather that will darken with age, with the right binding on the edges, and the lvs all lining up etc, I know
How to spot a fake, but some replicas I've seen, you wouldn't know unless you were sad (like me)

It won't match your real bag, the difference between original and cheap copy will be reapply obvious when used together.
I also would not use it as hand-luggage when travelling, as several countries have customs looking out for fakes and a friend of mine just got a substantial fine in Switzerland, as she had a tiny fake LV cosmetics bag in her luggage.

rogers I'm in the same position and bought quite a retro woven bag with rose and scroll print on amazon which I'm using for during and straight after labour then a mini suitcase dh can grab from the car when we're on the ward. Please be careful taking your lv handbag in too, you just don't know the people you may be sharing a ward with!!

that's very true actually, I know the french had a big clampdown on it recently, and seized and fined a lot of tourists, and Italy were having a big clampdown a couple of years ago. I bought a fake gucci in Venice a few years ago, and it was like trying to buy drugs! Then I went to Foxtown (outlet) in Switzerland, bought the real thing and gave the fake to my 12 yo dd!

Fakes are illegal in this country, and also very obvious to sad people like me who collect LV.

Why not buy a nice legal bag for the same money?

This is a good and sensible point about taking the bag/handbag with me into hospital! My hormonally challenged brain hadn't thought of that! I remember last time I was there with dd someone was nicking stuff and we were all told to be careful!

I've had a wee look on that site too OP, and thought that (from what you can tell from pics) the bags looked pretty good...and like you said, are still quite expensive. The one I fancied was over £150.
I do not have a genuine LV to compare it to sadly, I just thought it looked like a really nice bag - so what I want to know, is if anyone has actually used the site, did they deliver quickly, was the bag a decent quality - regardless of it being a replica, at that price I'd certainly be expecting handles to be leather - and are colours etc, true to pics?
I don't think anyone on here is going to admit to using site though, even if they have......pm me?!

Op, also there isn't much room on a ward. Take a big in, unpack them give bag back to you dp to take home.

A gym bag or two are good sizes or whatever you have in the house.

Fakes kill real jobs, use kids in sweatshops and fund crime. Please don't do it!

have you ever looked at Knomo? Very reasonable, lovely quality. My DH got his work bag from knomo in Harrods, and it gets so many compliments! Lot cheaper than LV too!

I am sure you can find a beautiful non designer rip off bag for that money I always look at the ones on the Pia jewellery website and seriously fell in love with a few in TK Maxx a few weeks ago - personally I wouldnt take an expensive bag to hospital, I had some quite dodgy people in my ward

I dont really "get" the whole designer handbag thing really either I love something or I dont what label it has on it is really neither here nor there to me.

My main issue with buying any fake goods is that some of the proceeds from this lucrative business are reported to fund terrorism - as a parent thats not something I want to be doing.

Even if the terrorism thing is not true the designs have basically been stolen from the original designer.

Why even buy a fake bag? I don't get it at all.

It funds criminal activity, looks shit & you know it's fake so never actually feel good about owning it.
