I was in Boots today and saw these things to put your hair up in a fancy twizzly bun, they were a bit like those snap bracelets that kids like I think. I was tempted (have loads of hair and anything that makes updos easier is interesting) but they were about £9 and I decided to leave it.

I want to google for reviews but cannot for the life of me remember what they were called! Can't find them on Boots (shoite) website or anywhere on web with my rubbish search terms. Any ideas? Anyone used one, even better...

It was NOT a donut/sponge thing, it was flat and covered with material, came in different colours to tone in with hair. I think you sort of trap your hair in it then wind it in and fasten. I might have had one long long time ago. I have had a donut since 1991. I like spin pins but this did a pretty fancy bun. I also got a bit distracted cos it was next to those weird loop things that were popular in about 1990, forget the name of them too. Argh!

I can't link as I'm on my phone but is it a Snap Wrap?

I don't think so, but it was like that if it was covered in fabric. I think. I might go back tomorrow and just buy the flipping thing smile

I had one, covered in velvet type material.
Utter shit, very hard to get right alone.
waste of £8 IMO

Is that the thing? I got mine in Claire's accessories, loved it when my hair was long, lovely bun always much admired, just takes a bit of trial and error to get the hang of it.

Also if you have lots of hair and happen to be in London near sales time try the Alexandre de Paris sale in Harrods. They usually put out big trays of clips and they are fabulous, got onto that one when I worked accross the road years ago! They might be expensive but my oldest ones are now 10 years old and look and behave like new......Just need to wait for my hair to grow back now! That said this is possibly a bad habit to get longer on a London salary I probably ought to get over it myself but am failing

It didn't look like that but the bun on the bottom right was what it did. I might get one of those, it looks fun and not too expensive.

Don't live in the south and I am most definitely not on a London salary, but I bet if I am ever near Harrods I will remember that and end up buying an Alexandre de Paris hair clip! I usually find myself looking at the Marc Jacobs stuff in Selfridges...

London shops.......dribbles a bit and goes off to examine rural horizon and immerse herself in peace, or something.......
