doc martens billie boots... whats the concensus?
(20 Posts)Just bought a pair ... I love them, but wondering what others thought.
Sick of wearing uggs, everyone has them, can't wear in rain and sick of kids trampling over them getting them dirty!
Was considering leather uggs, but saw these and thought oooooh ....
Plus about £200 quid cheaper!
These?
Am not mad keen on them but they're better than Fuggs, IMHO.
Anyone else <needy>
Yep those.
Glad you like them better than uggs ... So im not way out then
Will keep my toes warm I hope
Ooo those are nice and cosy. I have a pair of OOK from the sample sale and they are padded collared with buckles and lace, had them 12 years and they still look fab, they were a bugger until they were broken in [sore heels] but they are my go to boot for winter now. They are a lovely beetroot colour, I think they were meant to be closer to oxblood but the dye is definately more beetroot.
I must admit to have a pair of classic DM's [they 19 years old and just starting to go through in the sole] and a pair of MaryJane's [15 years old] too.
Yes they are pricey, but the quality is amazing, they've lasted amazingly well. Been through school wear [every wintery day] and my motorcycling years, with only a few scuffs.
Thanks kellestar
I thought they would last well ... Dp was like get to primarni and get a pair for a tenner, but defeats the point really, id probably get through more than 100 quids worth in one winter!
You have confirmed they are an investment!
I'm outside a lot and live oop north so proper boots essential.
Pleased someone likes them, wasn't sure if docs had had their day.
I love my DM's. I have 2 pairs but walk miles in my main pair and they are on their third winter now.
They last for ever and are much better looking than uggs.
Fab fanof, you two have put my mind at ease ... I'm gonna love them, they'll be comfy and last for years can't wait till they come.
Hoping the fur lining will mean they take a bit less wearing in.
Curly I have erm 8 pairs of DM's. They last years!!
farleyknuts
I'm convinced! 8 pairs?!
I remember I used to have a pair years ago, pale blue pearl colour, original style. Loves them, wish I had kept them now
Ooooo ouch! I'd forgotten about the pain of wearing DMs in!
I had another look and I do actually like them. I'm a bit of a DM purist so was a bit taken aback at the buckles but I reckon they could look quite cool with skinny jeans, a big chunky sweater etc for winter walks.
And I really, really loathe Fuggs but I know loads of people like them.
It could possibly be 9. They don't wear out so I just keep accumulating them
Hi, I am interested in a pair of these boots and watching it on eBay, can anyone tell me about their sizes? I am usually a size 5 for flat shoes, would I still be a 5 for Doctor Martins Boots?
Ooh they're nice! But then I do like DM's, and the buckles look really good! Wonder if they do them in red...
I have DM Binky boots this year and they are so soft and comfortable - no breaking in just bouncy warm feet.
I have 2 pairs of DMs I wear them with thermal socks in winter so comfy.
DMs are true to size so size 5 will be 5 DMs. Men's DMs are wider fitting than women's
I have 5 pairs of DMs and am quite the addict ... my current fave pair are these beauties <sigh>
Tell me they are not an object of great beauty?
Autumn - i am a five in every shoe and boot and i know a five in a DM fits me...
I am currently lusting after DM Triumphs - might put them on my Santa list
I have hello kitty DMs. Love them
Redlac- I have purple triumphs. Comfiest boots ever!
