Gloves issue with dd

Not sure if this is the right place, but dd 14months will not keep her gloves on for 5 seconds. I want a jumper, cardigan or coat that has a turn over sleeve, the way that those sleepsuits with integrated scratch mitts work. Does such a thing exist? Or any other solutions for keeping tiny hands warm without gloves?

You can buy ski mittens that have little clips on, I used to clip those onto the elbow of their clothing and then put coat on over. Worked initially then she just pulled and they came off. That was it then.

Hmmm, I think she might just see that as a challenge tbh. She grabs them in her teeth if she can't pull them off with the other hand.

Grim one of mine just pulled and pulled and eventually that did not work. I think from my own experience the only thing that MAY work would be a pair of tights applied to arms right up to armpits, then clothes and coat over the top. Not very practical though!

I just gave up trying at that age as they whipped them off within seconds. We would have never left the house if I was repeatedly putting gloves back on. They never got frostbite.

Mine decided gloves and mittens were ok when they were just over 3.

Boden snowsuits appear to have inbuilt mittens.

Tbh I think if they're old enough to take them off themselves then they are probably not that cold! Mine are rubbish at keeping gloves on, though I had a little success last winter with some of those gloves with little people on each finger .

At that age mine were both in the buggy anyway and had a blanket when it was cold so they could tuck their hands in.

Indeed it is what I want. Again though, I'd be looking for a budget version. She'll be grown out of it before I can blink!

Just a thought... You could buy a fleece jumper in a bigger size so the sleeves are longer and then just pull the sleeves down as far as you can to cover as much hand as you can? Held in place slightly by elasticated wrists on coat?

Kids don't get as cold as you might expect, tuck her into the blanket in the buggy and if she takes her hands out she ain't that bothered

Had this with my two also. one thing i would do is not put the gloves on when we leave the house but wait till they were cold then i would put them on telling them it would keep their haids warm - that way they figured out te reason for wearing glove (if that makes sense)
Found mittens (without separated Fingers ) best.
Another thing ds likes was those cosy socks from primark - they re kindof fluffy... worn as gloves ...under the elastic of the jacket sleeves
There s a great pair of do fingerless ones my dd got as a gift - I scoffed when I saw them - she has decided they are perfect for her (age 3 now ) they are from monsoon and have a little flap you can tuck over the fingers to keep them cosy but also can leave fingers free - I think that is the big thing that they use their fingers for exploration etc they hate having them covered

Ooh, I like Turquoise's idea. How about these cotton/cashmere fingerless mittens from Hennes for a fiver? Bargain!

Still think these for £20 our money are decent, though I suppose you'd have the p&p on top of that, unless you know someone in Germany.
