I have bobbed, platinum bleached hair which takes a lot of maintenance.

I buy all my shampoos etc from the salon and it costs a bomb. I pay £12 for special bleached hair shampoo, about £10 for professional anti-snap and heat-proof conditioner, about £8 for heat protector creme, and £8 for deep treatment stuff to use once a week.

A while ago I switched to 'high street' products (Herbal Essences and V05 stuff) and found them to be generally shit compared to the salon stuff. A friend of mine is actually in love with Treseme (sp?) but I don't believe the salon quality but affordable promise.

What hair care stuffs do you use? Are they any good? What would you recommend for me instead of salon stuff before I max out my credit card?

Much appreciated.

Shameless bump.

Has anyone used the Superdrug Brazilian Keratin range? A friend has recommended it and I only trust MNers I'd like some more opinions.

I used that Organix Keratin stuff after I had a brazilian blowdry because its sulphate free, the shampoo was good but the conditioner wasn't rich enough for my hair, my hair is dry and coarse.

L'oreal Elvive smooth intense is my favourite budget conditioner.

Why why the vo5!!! Shock

I just had my locks highlighted, on ebay there is 750ml(salon size, big bottles) tigi for highlighted hair, shampoo and conditioner called dumb blonde. Its £29.something?

It would last at least 3-3 months and works out very very cheap!!!!

I would say tigi are very nice for highlighted hair, keep its lovely and the colour 'in' for a while longer Grin

Buy shampoo etc from Cheapsmells website for a fraction of the price.

I get Tigi Blow out Balm from ebay which is usually 2 for a tenner.

I get Argan oil from Amazon - £10 instead of £30.

Yes I have tried tigi stuff before and it is lovely but still quite expensive with the amount I have to put in because my hair's so dry and damaged.

One day it will all fall out and the I'll be on here asking about where the best place to buy wigs is. Touches wood that this does not happen.

Other suggestions most welcome :)

I have tried all sorts also, from expensive brands to the stores own brands.
My highlighted hair felt terrible after moving to France as the water is so hard. My mum just arrive with the Avon version of moroccan oil, the shampoo, conditioner and oil cost about £15 altogether.

I have had so many compliments on my new hair cut and colour, even though I haven't done anything to it other than washing it! Grin

The Aveda Restructuring range is fab, but pricey, so I use this 2-3 times a week then for all others the Aussie Miracle Moist stuff for coloured hair. Works like a charm Smile
