Sigh. So my jollies are about to descend upon me once again (trust me, a holiday is not an annual occurrence!) once again I have failed to achieve a weight loss that I half heartedly set out to achieve, along with the glossy long healthy locks that I promised I would have. Instead I still have my size 12/14 wobbly jelly belly and my dried out, over coloured feels-like-a-Brillo-pad-at-the-ends-hair!

I should have tried harder. I should have been on that wii, Zumba-ing my butt off every night for the last 6 months. Especially this time. For this holiday. Why? Because this time my 5'9" size 6 long tanned limbed sister is coming with us!!!! So while I am splashing in the pool with my kids in my black one price, running dangerously (& i mean dangerously, no specs or contacts!!) in and out grabbing the towel to hide my white limbs, she'll be there, laid back (kiddie less) one leg arched up as you do, flat tummy and £££££££ sunnies on. I feel a bit queasy now!

My face is round, my cheeks are full, my neck is short. Her neck is long, she has cheekbones. I have a brush, she has long hair extensions. Sigh. I'm still excited though. My kids are excited, hubby is excited so can't be all bad can it?

... and your skinny sister is probably thinking "Sigh... I wish I had my beautiful sister's curves"

Get a sexy, 50s style swimming costume. I got a gorgeous one from Freya (I think) last year.

Get some funky, 50s style sunnies

Get some Moroccan Oil or similar to put in your hair when wet and tie it into a sexy bun if it's long enough

You'll be fabulous, dahling!

and enjoy your well-earned jollies x

Thank you Ghoula - your advice has cheered me up/inspired me!

In agreement with you, YouHaveBeenOutbid.

I have got a swimming costume from Next, a spotty one, halter neck, with a ruched front, its the only one i have felt half decent in! I figure i'll be in the water more so my body will be more hidden anyway! And i got some sunnies in the sale for £3!

Its just next to my sister i feel like an odd ball! I have slimmish arms, slimmish legs, until they reach the tops, then this huge tummy/waist/back. My neck like i said is non-existent.

Set the kids on their auntie? Imoossible to look svelte and cool when buried under a tonne of kiddy crap... I think the advice above about a fab costume you feel comfy in, and good sunnies, is great. Perhaps get a sunbed session before you go to feel tan and happy from day one? And have fun
